We did it bros

That's a great scene

Who was the monster/people at the start? Is it the same as the black guy?

horror is the lowest form of entertainment period
>>

Cube was great because it was strange and mysterious. The first one, that is.
>>
So I get that the dumb premise of the movies is that "Things somehow randomly end up there and then slowly degrade into weird nonsense over time". Ok.

So why was there a monster that just wanted to chase and eat the lady? Just because that's the trope of the genre of "In a spooky place and you have to not get caught" games and shit?
>>
Why do people in the backroom universe have no peripheral view? They do these long pauses and look directly at objects or pan the camcorder behind them fully when in real life people would just see things naturally with small movements.
>>
>>220856951
I did like the second one as well, it was a bit wild and not too great but it was an enjoyable once-off. The prequel film could've been better, but it was still cool to see Izon workers watching and controlling the system.
Tbh they should've just only released the first one and left it at that. Not everything needs sequel/s.
>>
>>220856976
>So why was there a monster that just wanted to chase and eat the lady?
It was a metaphor for the black dudes trauma and the therapist had healed him saying he can choose to stay that way which he accepted and the aberration didnt like that (which is also why it bit him). Its like poetry.

Yes. Spooky run around games are wildly popular (mainly with women)
>>

This actually looks kind of cool.
>>
>>220856676
I didn't like this movie but this scene and the camera footage with Arian from Dunk and eggs were the only interesting ones
>>

The second one sucks and they realized how quickly they wrote themselves into a corner and lol the simulation is destabilizing guys! Game over!
The only thing really noteworthy is that it gave the chubby ginger from forever night got a paycheck for more booze an vicodin.
Cube Zero is a little bit better because they knew where they wanted to end before the started writing the script.

that was the most annoying thing to me in the movie. it takes them a minute of screen time to take a single step and peer around an object. it works for the tiny little creepy clips that the backrooms internet meme was, but for someone who has been walking around in the place to suddenly stop and freeze and just sit there for no reason it is confusing and makes it clear they just wrote a scene to go around le creepy clip

They actually went to the blackrooms.
>>
>>220856701
this movie sucks because it doesn't show what's outside the cubes. low budget and shitty
>>
>>220856701
Cube is better because it doesn't explain what it is or why they're there, we never get to know
Backrooms is done by zoomers and they can't help themselves in writing gay lore for everything and anything, so they have to have an explanation, there has to be a reason for it, there has to be monsters and those monsters NEED an explanation, etc etc

Zoomers are just not good with the concept of fear of the unknown
>>

Most of it was built practically except for the pit scene obviously, all the yellow rooms and pool rooms were 30,000 square feet custom built and the suburbs was a real suburb with blue screens
>>
>>220857897
But the backrooms is still unexplained. We still dont know its origins or intentions.
>>
>>220857897
I agree but I do want to interject with an AKSHUALLY...

The origin was never explicitly explained, but one of the characters did give his theory for the existence of the Cube. Basically a large disconnected bureaucracy with a lack of communication between its parts, each worked on individual aspects of the Cube, and no one ever had a high level view of what it was for.

Im 99% positive it is. Theres only a few frames at the beginning where you can see it. This is the best one. The height matches and you can see a bigger distorted right hand and the ball joint from the peg leg in the silhouette which matches the pirate.

I laughed so hard when the monster of a giant Negroid pirate. I laughed during the entire chast scene. My wife and our kids started laughing. Other people seemed annoyed, but it was extremely goofy, or as my son said, "goofy ahh".

Maybe that was the parrot in his hand or waist on the left pic.
And oh crap, I just realized the reason there was a larger parrot next to the purple chair was because that was from Pirate Clark Still Life. I noticed the parrot was bigger than normal in that one room, but I didn't put 2 and 2 together until now.

I just watched and I don't know if I'm supposed to be familiar with the youtube videos or something, I remember the first video but never watched anything after that.
That said, while the cinematography, backgrounds, architecture, music and overall tone of the backrooms was really good and I believe that makes it an above average movie, at the end of the day, the characters move the plot forward by being fucking retarded and I'm not referring to the idea of exploring the backrooms instead of getting the fuck out, I'm referring to the characters dying because of sheer stupidity and them being scared shitless but taking their sweet ass time walking EVEN when being chased.
The focus of the movie changing from cool yet eerie esoteric place to "look at crazy man being crazy that's soooo scary" and then the monster is just some ChatGPT ass character instead of an weirdly shaped monster is lame.
Then at the end I'm guessing the scientist bullshit is supposed to connect it to the youtube videos? It's just so pointless, just fucking delete all that shit.

Well its never stated how tome goes by in the backrooms compared to the real world but he think its implied he spent a long long time in there( probably years on backroom time to find the exit) seems pretty believeble one would go nuts. And his only food source was probably the mutants so he developed a taste for human meat.

The ending still leaves a lot of room for speculation. Was it the real her at the end being mutated by the backrooms or just one of the clones? Did the backrooms merge with the real world in some apocalyptic event or was it just replicas inside the backrooms(to me it implied by saying there is more and more portals appearing it was taking over in the real world) There was no explanation what the scientists were exactly looking for.

Compare that to the lore dumps of the youtube-backroom videos there wasn't a whole lot of lore.

Maybe if you want to make a coherent story out of those things but really they're just playing on childhood fears/anxieties of getting lost/separated from family in shopping stores , what happens if you end up in the store (or perhaps school, or office building/airport/etc) after it closes with no other people, and anxiety of winding up in places that you probably (cant tell since no one else is around) aren't allowed to be in, and get into trouble being in if you are caught, etc.
That is the real root of all this liminal stuff.

the initial concept of backroom can only be conceived by someone who grew up with video games and 3d model. No clipping is literally something that you can find in counter strike and fallout. The problem is that the concept itself, despite being mid, is actually okay if it just stay that way. It was until this backroom thing becomes 'big' and have too much people contributing their 'ideas' in here and giving it too much substance like allegory and metaphor that itended up to become a slop. Now we have monsters, some black guy trauma whatever on this thing instead of some visual emptiness that looks unusual and not right if you look at it for too long

Likely Kane got final say in everything. It sounds like he was heavily involved with the script. I am guessing the other producers would step in to suggest changes based on experience, like how a camera should pan in this scene or that scene. Especially the kitchen scene where he is standing next to the therapist with the knife and the camera is down low like a horror movie vs how Kane showing things at eye level. I bet they had a lot of influence in the kitchen scene especially.

There's two scenes in the black rooms most of the movies comprised of bad dialog scenes outside the rooms

Not really an endorsement. You probably thought LOST was absolutely "brilliant writing".

No, the date on the first scene is 6/19/1990. The date on the scene when Clark first enters the backrooms is 6/26/1990.
