>>220859947>black protagonist >cute gets killed early onI shan't be watching
Why did he do it bros?
>>220859947all of my zoomer friends are too scared to watch it so i have nobody to see it with : /
>steals form 4chan>makes millionsare you seething yet anon?
I'm going to make another thread
the movie was unironic it had some scenes and actors did
Its unironically kino ironically in a meme way
Unironic movie 4chan movie unironic
Unironic

It was really fun. I wish there was just more cool rooms and exploration shots, thats when the film was the strongest. The plot/characters were side characters to the set design.

>>220859947What is with zoomers and horror movies
>>220860403Zoomers are just internet-age women which means they need constant stimulation and emotional schizophrenia. The feeling of imminent terror can't be faked so they've become addicted to it
>>220859947this movie is unironically bad and you.should all unironically kys
>>220859947this movie is unironic
>>220859947A triumph of style over substance, considering the setting is cool but the plot was terrible.
>>220860403It's just A24 using marketing to make a name for themselves in a niche where budgets are smaller.Zoomers just bought into it. At a time when movies get more and more expensive, relying on big actors, everything done in CG, 500 million dollar marketing budgets. A24 went smarter and see that you can get a bigger return on smaller budget horror movies and reduce the marketing budget to viral marketing on tiktok. The thing about horror movies is that the audience for horror is small but horror fans see every horror movie so you can make a consistent profit. The horror niche has been using those horror fans for decades. A24 takes this core horror fanbase and uses them as viral marketing tools to get zoomers to watch the horror movies. They are very good at creating this sense that every new A24 horror movie has this buzz around it and you need to see it or you won't be cool like your zoomer friends.
>>220862167True enough. Even that absolutely terrible Return of the Living Dead reboot is going to make a pretty penny since there hasn't been a zombie horror movie for a long time now and it has a major IP attached to it. It's going to be absolute shit but horror fans will still go see it literally just because it exists.

>>220860032That anon clearly stole it from another thread in the 00s.
>>220859947The introduction of AI generated people that just stare at you most of the time made anything creepy about the Backrooms pointless. The screaming bacteria monsters that try to speak as they chase you was pointless replaced.
was anyone else surprised that they managed to recover Clark's body?the timeline established by the YouTube videos made me believe they were exploring the complex very slowly so I didn't expect them to be patrolling even a few stories downstairs where his corpse would have fallen
>>220862077there's actually quite a bit of irony in the film
>this is scary because it reminds you ... of a job
>>220862680That's Captain Clark. Unless there's another scene you're referring to.
>>220862680I don't understand why the SCP clone is in the film to begin with. It detracts from the entire thing.
>>220862707Dude has his own lore and his idea seems to be that the backrooms take things and make copies, trying to learn what things look like and trying to piece together how spaces should be and what should occupy them. It's a completely different thing from the meme image about ''no clipping'' where you didn't even have furniture.
>>220860012grief. and ones sense of morality. He liked where he was because he fit. He envied the still life inside because they felt no pain or emotion.

Should I invite my ex girlfriend to go see this with me? I haven't said a word to her since she dumped me 5 months ago and vice versa. I have a new girl but it's more friends with benefits and she doesn't like horror movies like my ex did.

So was it a projection of his subconscious? And pirate man is his shadow?
>>220864560No, it's literally a subdimension that takes aspects of our dimension, and tries to copy it as best it can. The movie and the youtube series seem to be their own separate thing, since AI slop humans are not something mentioned in the youtube series.
>>220864257You're an idiot, this is true blackino.

>>220859947>You saying we's be in some kind of black rooms??
>>220862291because tons of zoom zooms will go see it as an epic joke, good chance to propagandise.
visuals were nice and acting was good. but there wasn't much of a story there
>>220864610It's the same setting. The movie is about a month after Async has mapped and constructed their entry to the Complex in 1990. An unknown Still Life appears in Found Footage #3.
>>220866098>but there wasn't much of a story therethis, and more of it's coming from gen z. zoomers are all about "vibe x", vibe coding, vibe studying, vibe directing, vibe writing. it's all about the vibes and nothing of substance. the reason why is pretty funny, zoomers have grown up in an online environment of low-friction grifters, ie those video essayists who will take the most marginal details in media to make a quick buck off of faux depth by padding video runtime with cheap tricks like reading entire semi-related wikipages word by word slowly. the zoomer mindest expects seemingly (but also actually) shallow source material, only to be expanded upon by online orbiters in pedantic fashion, whereby meaning is always downstream of it. the source material to the zoomer is worthless in itself, it's only an excuse for "intellectual-passing" digital moochers to parasitize an idea for youtube money. growing up in this environment means it's to be expected that narrative depth will be found nowhere in zoomer cinema, it's composed purely of "vibes" to be condensed into something weighty by video essayists. zoomers lack the drive and skills to actually say something of their own.
>>220866098>>220866364There was probably more story than there needed to be lmao what the fuck are you jeets talking about
>>220860198I support stuff that's not slop by actually going to the movies and pay, with exceptions depending on my interest. I happen to have a personal inconvenience and I won't be able to go to see it, so I'll likely pirate it.
>>220860403They live a dreadful existence. Horror for them is comfy movies for us. It's the genre they feel comfortable with because everything is scary for them.
>>220864163Don't make your life complicated, anon.
a lot of people don't know this but there was actually a huge bidding war for the rights to the backrooms. Netflix, Universal, Warner Bros, and A24 all came to Kane wanting to take him under their wing. He was just finishing high school at the time. He went with A24 because they gave him the most creative control.it's funny because there was actually nothing stopping them from just making a backrooms movie without Kane, being a more open-source kinda deal than an actual IP, but his series is so popular and is seen as the de facto "official" interpretation of it that they didn't dare. It's fucking insane how much the guy has achieved already. Interested to see what he does next.
>>220866098the movie is mostly story. there's only a handful of "running around lost in the backrooms" sequences. i don't get this criticism at all.
>>220866817>the average zoomer has all the AAA studios knocking at his doormillennials take another huge L

why did he think the giant cowboy version of him was going to listen? i mean the female doll run away when it appeared
there's also the dead end flashbacks about the therapist and her male sounding mom, wtf was that about, those guys saying kane didn't direct this are wrong, it's good work but its very obvious its very amateurish
>>220869588are you retarded perchance?
>>220860012>life sucks ass>enter the infinite and sublime>supposed to go back to shitty lifehe got buckbroken
>>2208627071. it's going off the backrooms simulating and mirroring reality, I felt like they got a little egregious with the one room with the tiled head, and some of the sets were overdressed, but that's nitpicking. Only real comparison I can think of is Annihilation. We also know Parsons is an Attack on Titan fan, so there's that. 2. Might be an homage to Candle Cove? This is pure speculation3. I agree, I like the uncanny nature in the YT series, but you couldn't do a sequence with them, at least in the way it panned out. They would look like shit outside of VHS lofi footage which does a lot of the legwork.
>>220860012Someone please post the smoke detector meme
Interesting premise, but story sucked ass.Should have kept the monster hidden entire time. That rice cake clone thing was just stupid.Should have just kept it as alternate dimension that opens portals all over the place and time and gathers random stuff over time.ok as a free movie
