>The film has grossed $81.5 million domestically and $118 million worldwide, this made Parsons the youngest filmmaker to reach number one at the box office.Zoomers won. /tv/ lost.
>open backrooms movie >look inside >millenial foid therapyslop
>>220867178what's with millennial women and therapy? is it to them what "just learn 2 code bro" was for millennail men?
>>220867205Therapy is code for "if you are sub8 shut up and go away"
TFA made 2 billion dollars. People have shit taste and get what they deserve. Next.
>>220867133did the anon who came up with it kill himself yet
>>220867205>>220867228Seriously why are they so obsessed with therapy lmao
>>220867416Yeah im pretty pissed
>had to steal the idea from 4chan
>makes a movie based on 4chan creepypasta>4chan lost
>zoomers only know how to stealskibidi kys
>>220867527>>220867529should have cast actors from 4chan
>>220867583name one
> Kane mentions that Osgood Perkins was his "mentor" and gave him his resources and team.> Mark Duplass mentions that he was hired because he mentors young film makers.> Mark Duplass is the head of the Creep franchise which uses the found footage techniques used in the Backrooms film.> The monsters in the film look exactly like the monster from Osgood Perkins's film Keeper. If you think Kane directed this film i have a bridge in San Francisco to sell you. Backrooms was ghost directed by Mark Duplass and Osgood Perkins, only absolute retards think some studio gave 10 million dollars to a 20 year old kid who never went to film school and told him to direct a film. Also what movie has 11 producers on it with acclaimed directors? Kane and this film is a manufactured Hollywood experiment because Hollywood got tired of the nepotism allegations.
>>220867653
>>220867763>11 producers>it's reallmao
>>220867763>>220867823
>>220867133>only 20 years oldHoly based
I watched the movie and it was pretty bad. It's watchable at first when you watch them explore the backrooms and you want to see what's in the next room. When the therapist enters the backrooms the entire movie goes to shit. It's fucking insane that the entire story is basically that Clarke is a lunatic who needs therapy and it's told through two conversations. The entire ''story'' is that Clarke at the beginning of the movie talks about his wife leaving him and how mad he is, and the at the end he is more mad talking about his wife leaving him. That's the entire story. It's the core of the movie and everything that happens.Clarke then just spells out how the backrooms work ruining any kind of mystique, just comparing the backrooms to bad memories. The entities were so lame.I get the feeling that Kane Pixels was clashing too much with A24 and his idea for the backrooms got pushed aside to make a movie about therapy. The things that Kane Pixels likes got very little screentime, the exploring of the backrooms, handheld camera, autism about looking at serial numbers, Async, dates and place autism etc. All of it got pushed to the side to show off award winning actors and ''deep'' ''themes''
>>220867763>>220867823>>220868099Of course he didn't direct any of it, do you really think they'd let some retarded 20 year old helm a 20 million dollar movie?
>>220867529it's a ripoff scp3008 tho
>>220868309>Asyncis gay.The backrooms being some kind of strange xerox copy is interesting and vague enough to remain mysterious.
>>220867763>>220867823>>220868315There's some middle aged seethe going on here.
>>220868375No, it's a possible explanation to justify how the rooms appear, but they overemphasize it in the movie for sake of the monster and the freaky ending.
>>220867133Good for him
>>220867501Parson's mother is a therapist. An unnamed one, like his father.I'll bet you $100 it's because he's a jewish nepobaby and is trying to keep it quiet.
Adjusted for inflation?
>>220867133im a late millennial and I like zoomers. fun they get their own movies and shit
>>220867178To be fair he didn't write the screenplay. He only directed this
>im a late millennial and I like zoomers. fun they get their own movies and shit
>>220867133>movie is set 20 years before zoomers were even born>UHM THIS IS LE ZOOMZOOM ACHIEVEMENT BOOMERS STAY MADLMAOing@your ass
>>220867205Therapy is confession for the Godless, in a world without religion some people still desire an amorphous authority with loosely defined logic to look at their life and tell them what to do, in order to absolve themselves of guilt
>>220868463>but they overemphasize it in the movie for sake of the monster and the freaky ending.Sure but I honestly I liked the movie more for it's atmosphere and it's exploration of the backrooms. Because it's a "horror" film and because backrooms has roots in the flood of "entity chasing player" games back in the 10s it was going to have that stupid shit.>>220868544It's not their idea.
>>220868612Zoomers think everything before they were born is scary fr no cap, that's why they're terrified of Mario 64
>>220868375Irrelevant whether or not you like it. It's a big part of his backrooms and in the movie it got 2 minutes of screentime.
>>220868638>It's a big part of his backrooms and in the movie it got 2 minutes of screentime.Which is enough to taint it and lay the groundwork for over-explanations that zoomers are so fucking fond of.
>>220868633>that's why they're terrified of Mario 64...they are?
>>220868696Async explains very little. We don't know if they opened a portal or found the entrance, or the backrooms have always been there or they accidentally created them. They are just the guys who found it and they go in and explore. The movie on the other hand spend 20 minutes telling you that the backrooms are this abstract concept of memories and how it's just every place that has ever existed getting badly recreated because mental illness is bad. The movie overexplained everything to the point that this version of backrooms is ruined.
>>220868704Yes
>>220868754I hope it isn't a "Gorden Freeman opened a hole in space" if they do do a sequel. That's still too much of an explanation. >The movie on the other hand spend 20 minutes telling you that the backrooms are this abstract concept of memories and how it's just every place that has ever existed getting badly recreated because mental illness is bad. The movie overexplained everything to the point that this version of backrooms is ruined.I want to disagree with you because the explanation that it is some bizarre xerox copy of the outside world is still interesting to me. He doesn't explicitly say trauma. However the fact the copy kills him does make it seem that way. >>220868763>2.2MWat.
>zoomer this>millenial thatyawn
>zoomers wonliterally a good thing, back in the 80s most moviemakers where people in their early twenties doing shit for love. millenials and gen xers barely did shit when we got the chance.
>>220868632Zoomer culture all the same my guy
>>220868619that makes sense
>>220868913>Zoomer culture all the same my guyI'm sure Lowtax and Moot are both zoomers too.
