The sovl of S1 was the Rue/Nate/Jules drama. Without it everything falls flat. They should've killed Nate like in the pilot.

Adding to this, Sweeney found out that Zendaya had secretly put into her contract a clause banning HBO from nominating ANYONE SAVE ZENDAYA for an Emmy in her contract, fucking over Sweeney, who was hoping to get a supporting actress nomination. This in turn created tension between Zendaya and Hunter; though it didn't completely destroy their friendship, it pretty much is why Hunter started aggressivey trying to get movie role since she was never going to get awards on the show thanks to Zendaya. And that's not counting the season three pre-production drama where Zendaya tried to keep Elordi and Sweeney from coming back period.

All in all what an experience. Season one’s visuals, music, and direction are genuinely incredible and defining as an aesthetic, season 2 is wholly forgettable, the Rue special bottle episode in the diner is the best written of any episode in the series, season 3 leaves you with the impression that if you enjoyed season 1 you’re sick fuck who needs to find God or else you’ll die or lead a life of depravity devoid of all joy. What other shows can you even describe that way in terms of trajectory?

Jules in season 2 is the same. She was my favorite in season 1 and her special episode was the peak of the show. Nate overall is my favorite character of season's 1 & 2, Cal was my favorite specifically for season 2. Season 3 lost all of its soul without Labrinth making the soundtrack. Cassie was the least interesting character of season 1 but it seems she gets the most screen-time of the final season.

What a bizarre season, feels like at some point Euphoria had a shot at being the modern Skins by showing the zoomer zeitgest and how internet/social media culture has disturbed teenagers trying to larp as adults by taking drugs, whoring themselves out or completely detaching from any values while the adults themselves are also dysfunctional.
