I see it as the opposite. Khrati wasn't so much alt-Boyd as he was just trying to hold Boyd to his own words/standards. For example, the shit with the guy in the beginning whose family gets killed. What is the point of rules if we won't uphold them? Why have the box if you won't even use it? And more importantly, what happens to the town when people realize that you won't ever have the balls to even use the box? Rewatching the best episode of the series (s1e8, when we see Boyd and his family arrive) and I noticed that Javier Grillo-Marxuach wrote it. Shame that Jack Bender didn't get him to write the whole series, because he is actually competent in writing dialogue and characters. It doesn't need to explain or solve shit, but it makes the slow drag of ryrthim berable.

Also it's the episode where Kristi gives Kenny a kiss in the cheek, and she didn't have that ugly haircut yet, and it's nice, but it's also a reminder of what we were stolen of (interesting, good looking characters forming relationships.)

I mean he's the main character so he gets plenty of screen to, if you like the actor you might at least like watching him do stuff. The big problem with the show is how passive everyone is. Like imagine if in Lost not only did the survivors not do anything but the Others also didn't do anything and 4 seasons in very little had changed. As an example, and I don't really count this as spoilers because nothing came of it, but back in season 3, an episode ended with him saying he was going to try to trap and catch one of the monsters that has been tormenting them. He drops this plan immediately, for no reason, and it never gets brought up again.

The showrunners need the extra season to brainstorm ideas for how they're going to explain the premise of the show. Whether it ends with a victory for the good guys or a fake out with the cycle repeating, I don't know, but I know they're going to try and explain what Fromville actually is at some point, and I know they haven't actually figured out the answer yet. So no way could they end it this season.

I used to like his character, with the trauma of surviving so long in such an environment it's normal to have mental breakdowns. But now it's clear that he knows tons of info that could save everyone, but he just refuses to tell them and everyone goes along with it, every time they just gently ask him just the minimum information needed for that episode and then they leave him alone instead of beating and torturing him.
