"Jedi Rocks" is intercut with Oola's death in a more interesting way than "Lapti Nek."
In "Jedi Rocks," Jabba's commands & Oola's pleas become part of the music, mirroring the male/female duet between Joh Yowza & Sy Snootles, all building to the crescendo of Oola's consumption.
In the first film, the cantina band plays a role in ironically commenting on the violence and killing taking place in the bar. In Return of the Jedi, Lucas wanted to take this a step further, but "Lapti Nek" ended up not being musically suited for what he envisioned. He and Richard Marquand both wanted to replace it, but there wasn't enough time to come up with a new song.
You can see him doing his best with "Lapti Nek" to attempt some version of what I describe with "Jedi Rocks" in the quoted post below, but it doesn't really come through. There's a repetitive keyboard sting that struggles to fill the role played in "Jedi Rocks" by the male/female counterpoint, but "Lapti Nek" just isn't musically complex enough.
Lucas's desire to editorially integrate both the movements and vocals of the band with the drama playing out between Jabba and Oola explains why he enhanced the band with CGI, and why he added a male singer to complement Sy Snootles, and arguably even the oral grotesquerie of the performance.
There is a grotesque oral fixation running through this entire musical sequence, which serves as an accompaniment to Oola's struggle to resist Jabba's sexual appetite only to be literally consumed by an even larger monster.

I would unironically play Hero Assault on Tatooine on repeat waiting for this song to play.
