same deal with the guy in the American Movie doc, whole time hes all "i'm an artist and a filmmaker this is what my lie is all about" finishes one film ever and never does another, the way he spends decades focusing on an old project that should be abandoned gave me PTSD because my filmmaker buddy did the same thing with some footage he shot that he thought for like 10 years he could repurpose with some added film to make a good indie film (and then put it into a competition or something) I'm a failed musician so I know the art struggle but at least as a musician if you finish your album and it sounds great theres a bit more satisfaction to that
