>>220882559Great atmosphere. Poor way of conveying its story. You have to rewatch and pick apart the bits of story the dialogue gives you. You have to notice all the hidden “blink and you’ll miss it” appearances of the creature in the photos and the porthole. You have to have seen the end to know what the fucked up zombie looking motherfucker is meant to be. Hell, you have to pay attention to the first shot of the movie because that opening 10 seconds is the most important part of the whole story. Oh and you NEED to use subtitles because the monster talks with two different voices and you won’t be able to fully grasp what it wants and what it’s doing without being able to tell which of its voices are saying what.But when you do piece it all together it’s a hell of a story. Most people won’t have the patience and I can’t blame them because there is absolutely a better way to depict the story Mark is trying to tell.

Markiplier is neither a compelling enough actor nor director to carry a claustrophobic locked-room psychological thriller. I feel like the world of the game has a lot of promise, but bafflingly they added very little in their screenplay adaption. At the end of the day, I think we all knew on some level that it was going to be a movie for Markiplier fans to gawk at the novelty of Markiplier running around doing a bit. It is funny though that Youtubers were the key to reviving the A-List boxoffice bump. Hollywood tried with Influencers in the late 20teens, but seems they just had to give it a decade for the zoomers to have disposable income (while also choosing to push less obnoxious influencers)

I didn't care for it. Felt more like a job application to be a leading man and director than it felt like a proper movie. It was bloated and slow, which I wouldn't jave minded if the payoff was something more interesting than some Event Horizon shit. I'm so over cosmic horror.

You would miss entire plot points and character deaths because you couldn’t see shit. At home it’s like finally watching the movie for the first time.
I would say that it was probably the best movie interpretation of cosmic horror. But you have to like slow burn cerebral movies to enjoy it. I loved it but I can completely understand some people finding it dull.
