I think I was kinda improving during my sessions with her. Then she transferred out and i got a male therapist and all he ever does is try to validate me and tell me i’m doing great. And it feels like a big waste of time. He also forgot that my mom killed herself and that was awkward to explain again. My point is, it really depends on the therapist and the client, and the whole validation thing can tank hard if it feels disingenuous. Which it easily can.

A good parents has a massive balance of everything a kid needs, if even one thing is off it messes with a kid. >>220884685It depends on the therapist and the problem. She probably wasn't the best fit of a therapist for Clark, so she did a bad job getting to the root of the issue with him. She didn't even tell him to try to fix it or give good advice how to fight it. But I think her burst was pent up frustration at her clients/career and of course being tricked, kidnapped, and talked down to. Maybe a few more therapy sessions could have broke Clark and got him somewhere better, but also could have made things worse.
