Why do so many people idolize actors? They're just good liars.
>>220891418maybe thats why people like them, we feel like "that could be me if I could lie so well"
>>220891418We like the characters they play more than the actors themselves.
>>22089141810 MILLION OR THE CHANCE YO WAIT THIS TABLE?????
>>220891418because people are retard and having le famous person that plays pretend telling them whatever shit is enough to sell them on it
Because he's just like me
>>220891418The romans were right about actors
>>220892283they are gay? or maybe worse... Greek?
>>220891418Wish it was a real pic. Generated images will fill our heads full of shit. I'm outa here
>>220891555$10 million. I don't give a fuck about any of these people and I'm not interested in having a conversation with them just because they were in a movie.
>>220892375Why do you care so much about actors personal lives?
>>220891418Acting is not about lying, it is about portraying something or someone.
>>220893286Pretending to be someone you're not is literally called lying, lmao
Because it is an artform and people have always liked to idolize artists. Arguably too much.> good liars. What does that make a director then?>>220893382Ask yourself why these people are playing pretend and why (you) spend your precious time watching them do it to get the actual answer.
>>220891418The most famous and wealthy people play make believe for a living. It has everything to do with power and imposing an uncritical narrative mindset on the population. Your freedoms are ever dwindling and their freedom of speech only increasing.
>>220893644>What does that make a director then?Directing and writing require skillsets that are actually admirable. Lying isn't an admirable trait, although it is an entertaining one when it comes to movies
Because they have the power to move you
>>220891418me standing up
>>220891418They all look like losers when you take them out of movies and put them in a regular setting.
>>220891418Most people are animals with no capacity or interest in higher reasoning who are driven purely by vibes, which actors are good at conveying
>>220894094But the director is directing people to 'lie' as part of his skillset, not admirable according to your logic. The point is that calling acting 'lying' is reducing the artform to the point it no longer has any resemblance to what it is. A great painting is 'just a load of paint on some canvas' a great work of architecture is 'just someone putting bricks on top of each other'. It's an incorrect use of the word anyway, it's acting out a story while you're storytelling, or you're a cog in a greater storytelling machine operated by the director.
>>220895135*Also no one watches a movie believing it to be true only to be upset when they find out it was make believe, unless they have a severe mental disorder anyway.
>>220891418Because our society is the pit of human civilizationAncient greeks and romans looked at actors as prostitutes because that's literally what they were - glorified prostitutes
>>220895135The director making sure the actors do their job and lie convincingly is a small part of the job, yes. Being able to lie convincingly is not an artform in and of itself
They’re attractive and make lots of money and live in big houses and everyone knows who they are.
>>220895161>Ancient greeks and romans looked at actors as prostitutes because that's literally what they were - glorified prostitutesThe Romans and Greeks didn’t have movie theaters or Netflix. Actors didn’t command a high salary because the audience was limited to people living in the cities they performed at.
>>220891418>imagine not having the insight to see this coming
>>220892351Every time...
