I have an old VHS tape of Kill Bill vol.1 from before DVD's were widespread and I convinced my idiot nephew that it's cursed. He's also afraid of empty rooms.
>>
I'm in my late 30s and I think your nephew is completely normal. VCR players are weird spooky. Empty rooms are spooky too, especially if they have mid century furnishings.
>>
>>220892169
How old is he?
>>
>>220892197
>mid30s
>getting spooked by mundane things
Grow up
>>
>>220892169
I wonder what dumb shit you were afraid of when you were younger
>>
Most people are scared of basements too. It has nothing to do with generation.
>>
>>220892226
Get younger
>>
>>220892245
For me it was anti-smoking ads.
>>
>>220892169
Your relatives are all retarded and so are you. It's genetics.
>>
>>220892169
Kill Bill came out in 2003. DVD player were common back then.
>>
>>220892362
Doesn't mean I had one. I was dirt poor back then.
>>
>>220892169 (YOU)
>obvious generational tribalism bait
I am Gen Z myself and I remember watching Blue's Clues on orange VHS tapes. I'm not even on the older end of my generation.
>>
>>220892259
>e-early 30s?
>>
Mt first dvd player was a playstation 2 that I got for christmas launch year.

But have you mastered the can opener?
>>
>>220892169
>Kill Bill vol.1 from before DVD's were widespread
The last major VHS release was the 2005 film A History of Violence. DVDs were widespread long before Kill Bill made it to physical media
>>
>>220892506
ok, not bad, but are you afraid of VCRs and empty rooms?
>>
>>220892640
>But have you mastered the can opener?
millennials act like their own kids are retarded for not knowing how to use a can opener, not realising its THEIR children that THEY failed to raise when the only reason THEY know how to use a can opener is because THEIR own parents taught THEM how to use one when THEY were the age THEIR kids are now
>>
>>220892730
Millennials are not the parents of Gen Z you fucking boomer.
>>
>>220892169
once half a dozen zoomers at work had no clue how a standard wall clock works, an analog clock, I pretty much just fucking gave up on them. I just treat them like I do illegals, I know they are but I just cant be bothered to even register that they exist. Zoomers are some sort of turbo retarded that you cant teach out of them
>>
>>220892648
We've already established that I was poor at the time, and that movie on VHS is slightly anachronistic but it did exist, and I had it.
>>
>>220892406
I wasn't weathy either but I had a PS2 like millions of other people.
>>
>>220892768
I forgot how to read analog clocks too. At age 34 I looked at one and I was like, huh... I forget what it means when the minute hand is behind the hour number... oh right, there's those tick mark things... and the short hand is the hour hand, right? Yeah.

That was my thought process. That's what happens when you're born into the 90s and then spend the rest of your life with tech. You forget.
>>
can zoomers wire a plug?
>>
>>220892819
No, that's not what happens. If your thought process for reading a clock is that long then you have some bigger issues.
It shouldn't even be a thought process.
>>
>>220892831
depends, are they cursed or not?
>>
>>220892819
You sound like you have cognitive issues if this is how you perceive things
>>
has anyone made a Haunted Wall Clock movie for these shitheads yet? money to be made there, get jack black in it
>>
>>220892863
>>220892883

I have an IQ of 135. It is what it is. I'm not 'dumb'. I stopped using analog clocks or trying to read them by the early 2000s.

i mean, they can shock you, that's pretty cursed.

if i handed picrel to someone under 30, would they know what to do? (UK plug, but US ones are similar.)

A24 presents.. "Big Hand Little Hand"
>>
>>220892947
I don't even know what I'm looking at, but I'm guessing those screws correspond to some kind of hierarchy? So you connect the wires based on that hierarchy? You just have to know what the colors of the wires mean, which I don't.
>>
I have Generation D&C fatigue.

so if I wave a wall clock in the window of your super genius mansion of a night you'll shit yourself? lol cool
>>
>>220892916
Not saying you are stupid, but it's not something you just forget. I'm also 30+ and haven't really used one in 2 decades.

How are the kids of millenials doing?

pretty much. electricals used to come with just the wires at the end (you'd strip them yourself to expose the three wires inside).
you either bought the plugs separately, or you just always had them in a drawer. similar to how everyone now has USB cables and spare chargers.

at some point manufacturers decided 'fuck it' and started selling electricals with the plugs already attached.
>>
>>220893057
I'll be pretty annoyed and I'll disregard time as a concept out of spite. When I find you, the consequences will be severe.

>>220893059
Well, I don't have dementia. And I wouldn't blame it on neurodivergence necessarily.

>>220893089
I do not. I can recite very specific things at will, like the neuron doctrine. I believe there are under-documented phenomena affecting core/late stage millennials that show up more prevalently in gen z, and it's been that way for a while.
>>
>>220893143
Oh, that's pretty cool.
>>
>>220893123
That's never stopped anyone
>>
>>220893157
I'm going to throw a VCR into your lair sending you into an existential crisis
>>
>>220892169
They're not. It's just popular video essay to be cweeped out by Source Maps.
>>
>>220893193
I don't think they're scared of this stuff, is what I'm saying.

It's a sort of 'act'. It's a bit. It's an instinctive bit. If they needed to do something which involved a source map or empty room, they'd just do it.
>>
>>220892197
>VCR are weird and spooky
You're not in your 30s if you actually think that
>>
there's some fucked up people in here I'm feeling or they are larping as 30+ years old
>>
>>220892751
>>220892730
Yeah, to be fair, most parents of Gen Z kids are either Gen X or late boomers. Sure there's some millennial parents of Gen Z kids, but they're typically going to be accidental teenage pregnancies.
>>
>>220893315
Yeah, just far from the norm for a Millennial to have a Gen Z child. That's like having an older sibling for a parent.
>>
>>220893234
Clearly, you didn't get your fingers pinched enough when pushing VHS tapes into VCRs as a toddler.
>>
Millennials used to be scared by cursed videogames and "lost episodes" of children's cartoons.
>>
>>220892245
Goosebumps, especially the puppet episode. And the glowing eye granny from Beyond Belief
>>
>>220892730
oh shut the fuck up with this entirely predictable copy paste response, you're meant to not be a fucking retard and figure simple things like tin openers out yourself
>>
>>220892730
you either know something or you don't, fine. my secret shame is i don't know long division (at all) because i was off sick from school that week.

but also, even before the internet, people did just learn skills.

>i HAD to use the internet! i NEEDED YouTube!
how does that work for people 10-20 years older than you, then...?

in your meme terms: if you didn't do the 'meta' of having a social circle where someone could have shown you how to use a can opener, that is a far, far bigger problem than not knowing how to use a can opener.
>>
>>220893138
>tenant
>>
>>220894548
I don't know long division either, really. It's just gay nonsense and being ashamed of that is absurd.
>>
>>220892169
I can put 100 hd movies in an usb dongle that I can insert inside my anus.

Get on with the times, boomer.
>>
>>220894911
>i use electronics
>see? i posted online
Just dishing out the dabs left and right today, aren't we?
>>
>>220895042
Keep your VHS amd DVDs, boomer. Watch out of fires.
>>

That's a user issue that you grow out of. How hard did you try to fist fuck a VCR to have lifelong trauma around them?
>>
I wanna get railed by some bbc. Jk that would prob smell like poop. Hellnaw for me, dog. Suh.
>>
>>220895143
can you just take any normal average shit and retards will believe you if you say it's spooky?
>>
>>220895166
I still saw the VCR VHS slot as a monster’s mouth forever and ever onward. That’s just how imaginations shape children. I still jerk off to anime characters too. I’m sure boomers think Betty Boop was a total piece of ass.
>>
>>220895205
that's probably what goes on in tiktok
>>
>>220892640
Blue's Clues anon here. My dad gave me a p-38 can opener.
>>
>>220892214
he said zoomer, which even if he's the youngest of the zoomer gen, would make him 15+. the oldest zoomers are hitting 30 and the youngest are minimum in high school now.
