Like I said, the whole junkie thing was just the reshoot trying to appologize for an absolute clusterfuck of a season because Warner didn't want to spawn a boycott (they distanced themselves from the show immediately). The first season definitely had drug use as a big theme, but it's complicated, and not meant to be a documentary on opioid addiction. It's really good tho, and definitely worth watching.
