I don't think he's pure evil and deliberately, maliciously manipulating the situation just because the only thing he values is raping the puppet of his friend's body like some people make him out as, but he still doesn't even attempt to undo it until someone died. Something no one ever discusses about this movie when talking about how what he wished for was immoral, or how he worded the wish stupid, is that he had no way of actually knowing it was a genuine real wish. There might be enough evidence on scene for a true detective to find out what really happened. Nikki will talk about how she felt trapped in her brain or another world and had to watch something take over her body. The wishing willow is on the scene.
