Recently rewatched it. Cab someone explain exactly who "Melvin White" was/why the Joker used his prints? Bruce and Lucius got his fingerprint after meticulously reconstructing from the shattered bullets that killed Officers Harvey and Dent. Turns out Melvin White was a guy who had assault charges and been in Arkham, and when Bruce gets to White's apartment, he finds the cops from the parade tied up. Was Joker really expecting them to reconstruct the fingerprints from bullet fragments in the wall to be lead to the apartment? Why wouldn't he make Melvin White's fingerprints more accessible, like John Doe in Se7en? And why doesn't he capitalize on it when Batman gets to White's apartment? And why is there absolutely no reference to Melvin White again? We can only assume that he's not the Joker, who has no matching prints, and he would be recognized as a former Arkham patient, but who is he?
