>Comedian Jack Lemmon's gravestone.
Westwood Village Memorial Park is probably the cemetery with the highest celebrity density in the world. It's tiny for a cemetery but packed with famous celebs. JL, Walther Matthau, Billy Wilder, Peter Falk, Peter Bogdanavitch (next to Dororthy Stratton), Donna Reed, Janet Leigh, Jack Klugman, Tim Conway, Bob Crane (next to Sigrid Valdis his ex-wife), Don Knotts, Hugh Hefner and of course the most visited celebrity grave in the world (pic). Lots of others I can't be bothered to type.

Hugh Hefner is next to he and he bought the spot for 75K back in the 90's. The spot next to him was up for sale for $2 million.

The guy above Marilyn actually has his body face down toward Marilyn which is creepy as fuck.

It would be sweet creepy if it was because he loved her and wanted to be near her for eternity , but I think he didn't really have a relationship with her, just credited the early success of Playboy on photos he has bought and published in an early issue, which she didn't even get paid that much for, as it was a pre+fame, pre-Playboy shoot.

No, you have to buy a square and when you die they put your body in a coffin and slide it into the wall. They have them in compartments stacked up but the bodies (coffins) aren't actually touching eachother.

Some Like It Hot for sure, one of the best comedies ever made. A personal favorite of his: The Great Race (pic). It's practically a live action cartoon, Lemmon is great as the dastardly villain Professor Fate with a scene-stealing Peter Falk as his henchman. Probably the best Natalie Wood ever looked on screen, imo.

There's four major cemeteries in that part of Valhalla, NY all right next to each other. Kensico (non-denominational), Sharon Gardens (Jewish section of Kensico, where Gottfried is buried), Gate of Heaven (Catholic) and Mount Pleasant (Jewish). It stands to reason there's a good number of Westchester County residents who died on 9/11 there.
Now that has nothing to do with Gottfried's burial there but it IS a very funny juxtaposition when you consider his epitaph.

>>

A mausoleum is for caskets and entombments. Columbariums are for cremated remains. The niches for cremains are much smaller than for a coffin.

Here's Janet Leigh's place at Westwood Village (pic, see arrow). I ran into Jamie Lee Curtis there once, I didn't recognize her visually (she was a few hundred feet away and I didn't pay her any attention) but I heard her talking to someone and instantly knew her by her voice. Btw check out Hollywood Graveyard on youtube if you want interesting tours of celeb graves. I discovered it during covid when I was stuck at home and found it oddly addictive. There are at least 5 videos on Westwood Village iirc, plus all the other major LA cemeteries and even all over the country/world.

I’m not against graves persay, they serve an important cultural function and is part of the system that allows for the long term planning society and civilization needs to not be a bunch of apes and force good behavior and generational care.
I just think the part of buying a grave next to some 1960s Gravure Idols, or buying the grave above her for $$$,$$$ and facing down shows you don’t understand death.

I've always been fascinated by grave tourism and the like. I found Find a Grave when I was 10 and I've taken the opportunity to visit some large cemeteries and pay my respects to famous people throughout the years.

Last famous grave I visited was of Frank Wycheck who was a legendary player for the Tennessee Titans.

Large cemeteries are meant to be walked in and the religious architecture there is meant to be admired. I'm not really a churchgoer so a lot of the worship I do is in cemeteries.
I've heard the mausoleums in Los Angeles are some of the most beautiful buildings in the entire world. A lot of my family is in Ferncliff Cemetery in New York and the original mausoleum there is like walking through a 19th century palace.

lmfao what an absolutely heinous grave. I mean really that's not a resting place of remains, its a black anchor deliberately designed to keep the soul trapped on earth. And that's not just because of the color and shape, every last detail and word screams total lack of acceptance of death and total fear of losing the ego. You put the fucking nuke on there? Your fucking grave is the image of your fetus being born by some link to scientific data collection, do you think you're incubating or gestating in there or something? And your epitaph is crying about how much of a romantic virgin he felt he was? A statement of regret regarding some human soul you didn't manage to 'acquire'? I'm not trying to be an asshole to the guy here, I'm saying this is more like something you would do to seal a soul in a phylactery more than it is something in which you would place a vessel to the afterlife

I hear Bob Kane fucked Jack Kirby's wife while Stan Lee fucked Bill Fingers. Like a strangers on a train situation.

Whacky Races is literally directly based on this movie. The first half is pure kino, the second half is very tacked on and hit or miss.

>takes a human being a year at the most to become bones. Fuck she might just be dust
>>220922955
>catacombs from the 1600s don’t have bones in them

Ah finally my autism is useful. The decomposition of bodies depends entirely on the soil they're in, as the conditions from acidity to how waterlogged it becomes can either preserve or completely demineralize the bone - and on very different timescales. Bones turning "to dust" is sort of right, only think of it more as weathering. But if the soil conditions are good the bones will be unaffected for thousands or hundred of thousands of years. In certain anaerobic ground like bogs the soil becomes a preservative which is why you can find bog bodies from thousands of years ago that preserve all features including the skin.

Being buried in a chest of some kind changes the problems as well, most regular pine box graves are actually crushed directly after they're put into the ground, to flatten out the earth for the gravesite. This is completely normal. In old graves like ship burials we have cases where the decomposition of the flesh itself has become sort of a sludge at the bottom and served to decompose the bone, leaving only remnants of gold and copper burial goods. That tells you something about what happens to the (rare) hardcore sealed coffins (bought by folk who want to be "preserved") - barring of course they're full of preservatives, which is mostly common in the US.

In either case it's very common these days for burial plots to be temporary. The churches WILL shuffle your remains on top of others or even in a common pile after as short a time as decades. Your descendants have to pay for the upkeep not to rebury you of course.

A local theater showed this as a weekend matinee last year. I went to both showings. So much fun to see on the big screen and with an appreciative audience. As other anon mentioned earlier, Natalie Wood is smoking hot in this one (especially if you have a stockings and garter belt fetish, which I most certainly do).

In music notation it basically says a really loud silence. Sorry to ruin your sense of self-fart-huffing superiority by actually sharing that with people who don't read music as they are not twats.

Its a full rest at forte-fortissimo without measure boundaries, a loud silence that never started and never ends. The lack of measure notation around that full rest is imperative (try to tear me down for respecting a masterwork of a grave will you!?)

To be honest I can see Kyle Gass being far up his own ass so I wouldnt be surprised Black used that as an opportunity to get out of that.
I'm pretty sure if Black truly wanted to keep D going he has enough pull and built up capital to survive that.
