In 10 days we find out which nation is the best on Earth, Portugal or Mexico
>>220921817For me its Aruglia.
Incredible game.
the funny thing is that Mexico and Portugal were both shitty teams back then
>>220921953no one but third worlders care about divegrass, just like how no one cares about handegg but amerilards, so the joke was still funny
I remember looking for this opening sequence on yt many many years ago and the entire comment section was a giant flame war about this offhand joke.
>>220921974>>I'm insecure and I sucked my best friend's dick at a partyYes, You are that and you did that
Low scores! Ties!
BARRIAGA
>>220922023High kickin'! Low scorin'! And Ties? You beeeeeeet!
>>220921974nah every thirdie ive encountered tells me random shit about american sports
>>220921898>>220921817great episode and the parody of association football was a spot-on. This gotta be the most overrated sport in all of Earth
>>220921817That one player flying into the sky for no fucking reason always makes me laugh. One of the best good joke/time ratios in the whole show
>>220922379I love how quickly riots escalated in the classic Simpsons era
Imagine being so coward that your country doesnt like the best sport ever created and instead choose to play only locally some shitty sport no one cares about lmao
>>220922403>HE'S HISTORY'S GREATEST MONSTER!!!
>>220921817will Ariaga, Ariaga II, Bariaga, Aruglia and Pizzoza/De Souza be there?
>>220922004Calm down, Pablo, it's just banter.
>>220922411Good morning, saar>>220922447Psh, I haven't heard of any of those people.
>>220922466Im latino but enjoy your shitty sports im sure youre happy screaming and cheering for black guys playing
>>220922379>>220922403One of the funniest tropes. I like when the Wonderful Life Jimmy Stewart character incites one purely by speaking in metaphor. I think my other favorite trope was Homer viewing the world entirely through the lens of pop culture. My favorite example being where his guardian angel appears as Isaac Newton, someone Homer would "revere and respect". Homer of course has no idea who he is so he (annoyed) shifts into the visage of Colonel Klink from Hogan's Heros which instantly puts Homer in awe.
The Paella Man and the stadium being a former internment camp are underrated
>>220922519Another good example of this is when Homer's only ideas about college life come from that trashy comedy show. He insists on having a rivalry with the Dean because he assumes he has to be a stuffy jackass like Dean "Bitterman" when he ends up being the coolest, most tolerant guy ever lol.
>>220922488I'm Mexican and we prefer the term Latinx.
>>220922519I didn't see It's A Wonderful Life until a couple years back and I had no idea that was even a reference until then. I just thought to funny-sounding bank teller was trying to shift the blame by accusing random people of having it. Somehow just as funny.
>What you got are Russian no-wood-niks
>>220922114BARRIAGA II
I don't watch soccer except for the big games sometimes. Who's a team I can root for in the later rounds of the world cup? I prefer not to support France
>>220922241It is strange for me to hear Americans say that considering they dickride football and baseball. Basketball is boring too but for different reasons
The ecology of Sneed is fascinating. You had over population of Simpsons threads and it self produced a plague that utterly destroyed the discussion for years then after having burned out its host went away and now Simpsons threads are back but not to the same extreme level having reached a new equilibrium.
>>220923119Baseball is boring but football is kino.https://youtu.be/FmvUm_KNR3k?si=v7odzhVhi9rjFiIp
>>220921953Portugal were not shitty in 1997
>>220923166it was very tasteful, a classic /b/-style shitpost for thread derailment. it's funny to see how it's mutated off-site
>>220921817the joke is that they are totally irrelevant countries, as are most soccer playing nations
>>220924487They only picked Mexico and Portugal because their flags contain the colour green, which is something Americans can't deal with.
