Was she the true villain of Excalibur?
>>220922041no. she kept Excalibur safe, did penitence and asked forgiveness. Neither is Morgana the true villain. She was fucked from a young age.The true villain is Uther Pendragon obsessed with banging another man's wife.
>>220922041dindunuffins>>220922194did you miss the part where Morgana tried to plunge Albion into a new dark age of obscurantism and ignorance?
>>220922194>The true villain is Uther Pendragon obsessed with banging another man's wife.I mean, yeah in a sense, he is the cause of all that came after but if he didnt, well the events wouldn't have unfolded, there'd be no Arthur. Maybe he was just a pawn in the greater game of existence? In that light, i don't see him as a villain but as just a cog in a wheel for things to happen as greater powers have deemed it.
>>220922041yes, she married Authur despite clearly not loving him, then she wrecked the entire country by banging his best friend.
>>220922635>I mean, yeah in a sense, he is the cause of all that came after but if he didnt, well the events wouldn't have unfolded, there'd be no Arthur.Without the first sin there was no need for Jesus.>>220922041I don't see it like that. It's heavily implied if not outright stated in a lot of the legends that they were essentially fated to fall for each other. They couldn't help it. I think in Excalibur specifically it has something to do with the fact that Arthur cheats in their duel. Maybe not even that he cheats but the fact he takes the remade Excalibur. He and Merlin made a pact in that moment that neither understood the consequences of, because they were convinced Arthur HAD to possess Excalibur. Not unlike the pact Uther made in haste. Had Arthur allowed his pride to be wounded who knows what would have happened? At that point his leadership and just rule was likely enough to inspire loyalty with or without Excalibur.Btw, anyone play Tainted Grail? That shit was way better than I thought it would be. Also Guinevere has some of the best hair of any chick in film history in this movie.
>>220922041>>220922807The problem is that Lancelot and Gawain fought a duel by swearing an oath to God to not tell falsehoods. Lancelot was injured by Gawain during the duel. Lancelot won but his wound never healed. I'm guessing as a punishment from Heaven for lying.
