That's just murder with extra steps

Wrong! Murder is when they manufacture a virus in a lab, it gets out, and the same people who created it manage the response while it kills millions of people worldwide!! That was murder and there has yet to be a real reckoning for that.

jigsaw didnt murder anyone lol

>I’m not going to extrajudicially murder you.
>Luckily, this train I have engineered to derail will claim you among the many collateral civilian casualties
>This will leave my hands clean, legally speaking. At least as far as the surviving evidence suggests.
>Glides to safety.
He really was the hero gotham needed, wasn’t he?

The Arkham games did it better. Batman will try to save anyone if possible, but sometimes they won't let him. An appropriate example from Arkham City would be Batman trying to save Ra's from falling. Ra's stabs himself with his sword, forcing Batman to let go.

How so?

Sidelining Hugo Strange with not only the shitty Ra's twist but then making it all about Joker, removing any impact Hugo had just to elongate the game to be even longerer rather than focusing on a good villain/story the game already has, is just further proof games can't be art (or at least Batman video games can't be art)
>>
>>220924554
Wrong, there is no legal duty to rescue or help somebody
>>
>>220925749
Issue with videos games is they are seldom short and sweet. Television as the same problem of having to force more fluff and filler.
We need to go back to tight narratives and design for all media. BREVITY
>>
>>220925770
Murder is defined as doing something that the average person would know is likely to result in someone's death. Any reasonable person in a jury would agree that Batman knew what he was doing. The verbal confirmation from Batman is all the more damning. Realistically, he would be facing a prison sentence.

>izzat hitler is gassing your home town
>uhhh we need a proper trial to make sure this is kosher with our law system

>>220925749
The game has multiple villains, and this wouldn't be the first time in the series where the most important villain is dethroned partway through the story. Your criticism stems more from your favoritism for Hugo Strange than from any real issue with the plot.
>>
Well why doesn't Ra's have a memory cloth gliding cape and a magnetic gas grapple gun with the 350 pound test monofilament? Should've thought of that before getting on a train
>>
>>220925813
Nope once again there is no legal duty to rescue or help somebody

>legal duty
there is a moral duty

illogical reddit retard logic. Not going out of your way is not murder. There is someone out there you could donate organs to right now, and save their life. You not doing that doesn’t make you a murderer you 50 IQ faggot.

I had no strong opinion of Hugo Strange until I played Arkham City, and he was immediately striking from a visual presentation (the introduction, revealing he knows Batmans identity, etc)

The problem with displacing Hugo Strange is that he's all over the game as the omnipresent force all over Arkham City. Everything you see there feels like it was carefully placed or planted there at his will, his own personal ant farm.

Cutting his knees out from under him not only ruined the chance of creating a hot new popular Batman villain (even if he's an old one), but ultimately hurts the whole of the game, as his fingerprints are practically rinsed off for a bad twist and Joker wank.

Batman instructed Gordon to sabotage the railway and he knew that leaving the train without Ra's would kill him. By leaving this situation he created, Batman is guilty of murder.

I'm a security guard. Every once in a while I find an unresponsive hobo. Obviously ODing from fentanyl. I always call 911. Paramedics arrive and dose the hobo with narcan. The hobo springs up and walks away like nothing happened.

I feel like I'd get in bad legal trouble if I did nothing. Not only fired from my job, but I'd catch some kind of charge for failure to render aid.

Batman would save Ra's every time in this scenario tbqhwy. "I don't have to save you" is too much of a slippery slop way of thinking for him.

In the final moments of the battle between Batman and Ra's al Ghul, Bruce tells Ra's, "I'm not going to kill you, but I'm not going to save you."

But as you can see from the video, Ra's had ample opportunities to escape from the train once Batman got off. Ra's is a trained warrior and could have escaped if he wanted to, but no, Ra's had accepted his fate and closed his eyes and accepted death.

>DURRRR I'M BATMAN AND I'M A BIG GAY FRUIT WHO DOESN'T KILL ANYONE BECAUSE I'M SO ETHICAL
Punisher absolutely mogs this overrated faglord.
>>
>>220926655
Batman and Gordon destroyed expensive public infrastructure, directly leading to the train disaster and the death of Ras, as well as many others most likely.
>>
>>220926740
Nolan giving you a wink and a nod. I know in the comics he’s an immortal man, but now Ras is a legacy identity. So he doesn’t have to actually be immortal but he can still be “immortal”.

It’s lazy, cowardly writing. Having your cake and eating it too. The Nolan trilogy is fucking rife with this shit.

>I'm just going to instruct someone to fire missiles with my military vehicle at a support beam for the train you're riding, then I'll break into the train, punch you repeatedly until it's about to crash, and escape the train knowing you're going to die and there's nothing you can do
