Chinese history is very mid. Not alot in their history but chinks of a similar culture fighting eachother. In contrast in the ancient Mediterranean you have vastly different cultures clashing against one another for the entirety of the period.No one would be interested in roman history if it was just a thousand years of Romans fighting romans and never leaving Italy.
