This movie sucks dick and Mike Flanagan is boring. The moody drab lighting he uses in all his works too is just awful.
It's one thing to have a black heroine, but they just couldn't help themselves and had to make her mom a mudshark too. She could've just had two black parents, but they couldn't resist perpetuating The Scheme.

The gypsy soul vampire troop was great. A movie unrelated to the Shining focusing on them would have been cooler. But McGregor is really great in this. The monologue at the AA meeting and his scene with Jack at the bar are some of the best work he's done. The rest of the movie is meh, especially the ending. Honestly it could have been way worse than it was.
