the books ending made me feel super melancholy. it time skips like 3 more times where oliver and elio meet up at different points in their lives. wish i could find more stories like that where lovers yearn for each other over the years but never got married/dated cause of their situations. only thing similar I've found is the Sun Kil Moon song "Carry Me Ohio" where he sings about meeting up with a past lover whos dying and he regrets not living his life with her.
