Don't watch it. I made the mistake to watch Mononoke because the music was good. It's pure trash and the music doesn't even fit, it's like listening to Darude while looking at a sandbox.

Really bad movie. Killed the career of Aronofsky. It's literally and without exaggeration a movie about Wolverine eating tree bark inside of a snow globe for 3 hours with boring flashbacks to irrelevant things.

I did that with requiem for a dream. shit movie about drugs with divine music. there are other examples too where the movie was shit but i still enjoy listening to the soundtrack.

It is an essential watch. It is not truly something special for a complex plot but to be seen as an artwork and what peak arthouse was like. The visual echoes and connections in the movie are brilliant and of course it is hyper astro-spiritualist and new age, it absolutely works(unless you don't like the color gold)
Can't go outside anymore without looking at the nightsky, spotting Orion and mumbling Xibalbá....

funny story though, my mom went to northern spain and hated it because everything looks drab and boring like german medieval villages and doesn't have the mediterranean vibe typically associated with Spain. And the people are supremely unpleasant and the food is awful
