In this scene in Stargate SG-1, the humans bring Earth weapons as gifts to aliens. They show off their effectiveness by shredding a tree trunk target. The aliens say “we accept your gifts.”
Did James Cameron copy paste this scene for Avatar 3?

The protagonist in Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001) looks and acts identically to Daniel Jackson in the Stargate film (Brent Spader) and in the Show (Michael Shanks), as well as having the exact same character backstory and arc. I've always found this really odd.
