A metaphor about how we know we did something wrong and the truth is always right in our face but we refuse to accept reality and the consequences of our actions until we face it directly. We eventually have no other choice than to accept it and this only leads to our own demise. Pretty obviously directed at Diane's storyline and how she had Camilla murdered because of her jealousy as a failed actress. No matter how her subconcious tried to make its own fantasies (stupid hitman and lesbian subplot) she eventually faces reality and her failed dreams which is represented by the old people that she failed to.I seriously would have loved to see the storylines for these guys expanded in the tv show that they were going to originally make.
