Its incredibly depressing that all the new filmmakers are people doing shit like this, and the artsy aesthetic of all nu-horror makes it even worse because at the very least old horror knew it was bottom of the barrel slop and didnt have such a gay audience. Whats even worse is that the success of this movie and Backrooms means we are getting another decade of nu-horror dominating theater screens just like what happened when Get Out and The Witch came out in 2016

But at least the sheer variety and quantity we have now means there's more to choose from, good and bad. Any mainstream horror is trash though, yeah. Last genuinely good mainstream Hollywood horror movie was Sinister, 14 years ago.
