He-Man should be compared to GI Joe and things of that ilk.By the way, the lead writer for TMNT worked on MotU, as did many other staff that moved on to other shows. It is disingenuous to say that no effort or love was put into it, even though it's a low-quality ad for toys.

They had a couple of muscular actors acting out scenes while in various character costumes and simply traced over the live action footage while adding in stuff like Skeletor's skull face. THEN they re-used the resulting cartoon frames as much as they could get away with.
