>The demiurge is real and it's using Steven Spielberg movies to exert its control over you
>The human condition is an endless pursuit of self-actualization via myth (Pinnochio) and a biological imperative for a mother's love (which can be taken away as easily as it can be given) so you will never be happy

They seriously gave him $100 million to make this?
>>
>>220969014
bump. What do you think of Steven Spielberg's 2001 masterpiece A.I. Artificial Intelligence?
>>
Wasn't this a Kubrick joint before Hollywood killed him?
>>
>>220969623
He was producing and worked on the script for years, but decided it would work better for Spielberg to direct it.
>>
>>220969623
The production process is long and complicated. Kubrick started working on it in the 80s, brought Spielberg on in the 90s (believing he would be the better choice to direct it), they worked on it collaboratively until Spielberg thought it'd be best if Kubrick just did it himself after Eyes Wide Shut, Kubrick dies and then his widow and brother-in-law convince Spielberg to finish the job (following the storyboards and screenplay originally approved by Kubrick closely). He re-wrote the movie himself and I don't think the original treatment is available to read anywhere, but it's safe to say that Kubrick trusted Spielberg to see his vision through.

Also, Hollywood didn't kill Kubrick and there is no conspiracy around Eyes Wide Shut.

shalom
>>
>>220969916
What's the conspiracy? By all accounts the only part of the film he hadn't finished working on was some fluff like the B-roll helicopter shots of NYC at the beginning of the film. I don't think the Illuminati would kill Kubrick over Eyes Wide Shut, it's far from an "expose," all of the coded allusions to things like child trafficking remained intact in the final film.
>>
Spielberg got done dirty by Kubrick fans regarding this film claiming the schmaltzy parts are on him. The last 20 mins are Kubrick's intended ending, the one thing he directed for this film before dying was Robin Williams' goofy cameo, and Spielberg actually made the tone darker and added things like the Flesh Fair. The schmaltzy parts were in Kubrick's vision for the film and probably are why he thought it would be better off as a Spielberg project.
>>
>>220970070
It was also a practical consideration, Spielberg understood a CGI-heavy workflow better than Kubrick did. At one point Kubrick literally wanted to wait until robotics and AI had advanced enough that the lead could be an actual robotic boy, getting as far as a screen test of one, before realizing that it was impossible.

>The demiurge is real
Based on what?
>>

Gigolo Joe tells David that the fable he's in pursuit of, the Blue Fairy, may very well be a mind parasite implanted into him to persuade him into his own destruction. Turns out that's exactly what it was, it was artificially disseminated to Mr. Know (the Robin Williams thing) to lead David back to Cybertronics HQ where his creator could revel in his pain, leading to his suicide.

As long as we get a Teddy out of all this AI thing, then I'm all for it.
>>
>>220972488
Teddy was such a bro, David just couldn't recognize it in his singular pursuit for mommy. He basically gets left for dead at the end which is profoundly sad.
>>
>>220972488
For me, it's the labor robot who keeps babbling about how his light is broken but he can still work.

>Can you kinda shoot me over the propellor thing?

Takes me out of the movie every time. Why the fuck did he want a Chris Rock cameo in this specific movie?
>>
>>220969014
Its becoming vomit inducing to try and understand zoomers thoughts. Look at this retarded fucking post. You faggots need to be killed off by WW3 asap
>>
>>220973617
Okay faggot. What's your take on the movie, then?
>>
>>220973582
I found it quite funny and sad.
>>
>>220973680
nta but whenever someone on 4chan starts posting about the demiurge, I automatically assume they're just going through separation anxiety after leaving their parents' religion and coming to the realization that they need some kind of spirituality to be content, which conflicts with their desire to be "above it all," and that they're just coping by using le edgy religion maymays.
>>
>>220969014
This movie is a masterpiece and only grows more important with time. People who get filtered by it are genuinely too low IQ. It's astonishing that Spielberg made a movie like this
>>
>>220973810
I have a very low tolerance for schmaltz.
>>
>>220973888
This movie has none. It tricks you into thinking it does when in actuality the ending is very sad.
>>
>>220973582
the whole redneck scene is stupid. it would make sense if they used monster trucks.
>>
>>220973888
The "schmaltz" is all fake, though. David is given "one last day" with his mother before she is basically ripped out of the space-time continuum as though she never existed. The only surviving memory of humanity is this weird mommy obsessed robot who is content cuddling up with a simulacrum of mommy even if it means they will both basically cease to exist afterwards.
>>
>>220973888
so did Kubrick (a total hack)
>>
>>220973948
>a total hack

Explain, anon.
>>
I love this movie with a passion. Its the only movie that made me shed a bittersweet tear at the end. He finally got what he wanted. Only for a day, but he finally got what he wanted.

Im starting to think majority of zoomers are sociopaths. How on earth can anyone watch this movie and not be moved by it? You'd have to be more of a robot than the protagonist.
>>
>>220973933
Why do you think I'm talking about the end of the movie?
The whole movie is seeped in it.
>>
>>220974046
Isn't "shmaltz" something a turbo Woody Allen jew would say?
>>
>>220974074
Unc thinkin bout our rulers AGAIN
>>
>>220974046
How so? The only thing even remotely "schmaltzy" is the friendship between Gigolo Joe and David, imo, because Gigolo Joe ends up being such a selfless hero who just wants to take care of this lost kid. Everything else is pretty much abject misery for David.
>>
>>220974121
Im not keen on hollyjews shitting up this board because Speilberg cut them in line at the kosher deli once and now they wanna make a thread shitting on a 25 year old movie because jews dont know how to let shit go.
>>
>>220970070
the ending isn't schmaltzy and is fucking horrifying and tragic. people don't correctly interpret it because you're seeing things from david's perspective and he has minimal understanding of what's going on. the discrepancy between what is actually occurring and how it's being presented is genuinely too deep for most people, they cannot pick up on the intentional dramatic irony of it and so to them it's just an unearned happy ending.
>>
>>220974242
Can you fucks just say "sappy"? You're annoying me.
>>
>>220974327
shut the fuck up goy. you are our cattle and we are your masters
>>
>>220974359
I once nutted in one of your curly haired big titted women. She swabbed my cum out of her pussy and ate some of it. Not very kosher of her.
