>Guilty beyond a reasonable doubt
>no we have to come up with a bunch a hypotheticals that prove he's not Guilty beyond a shadow of a doubt
Honestly insane way deliberate.
>>
genuinely evil movie
>>
>>220972131
I saw this at my local art house theater recently and the entire theater started groaning audibly when the guy said his “you people” to the frenchie
>>
it is unreasonable to not doubt circumstantial evidence. innocent until proven guilty. circumstantial evidence is not proof.
>>
>>220972131
actually they explain in painstaking detail for almost the entirety of the movie why he in fact was not even remotely guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

>>220972213
die, scum
>>
>>220973130
Fuck your mother, swarthoid commie.
>>
>>220973130
speculation and introducing outside evidence are not in the purview of a jury. A jury is supposed to analyze the facts as presented.
>>
Am I the only one thinking this movie is honestly great?
>>
>>220975528
Its a fantastic movie. The message just happens to be retarded.
>>
>>220972213
>>220972131
Yep.
It's subversive commie propaganda. The aim of the movie is to convince the public that doubting your common sense in order to criminals off the hook is the enlightened and moral position. That anyone who doesn't do this is an ignorant, uneducated bigot who is holding us back from attaining Utopia.

There's even one point where a member of the jury says a very mildly racial remark and the rest of the jury gasps in horror. You wouldn't want to be like that racist troglodyte do you? Then side with Fonda, he's wearing a white suit after all, you can tell he's on the side of good.

>>220972483
Following Fonda's character's logic we could just as easily say that no murder took place at all. That the victim actually fell onto his own knife. It's no more of a stretch than the drivel he comes up with in his head.
That isn't a 'reasonable' doubt at all but it's technically possible.

But what if the defendant had been White?
>>
We have cameras and DNA now, back then you actually had to err on the side of caution
>>
Why is someone here so obsessed with this movie?
>>
>>220977935
This, before the mid-80s all unwitnessed murders were basically just educated guesses
>>
>>220977942
Russian influence thread. They desperately want people to accept fascist authority to the point that they claim self defense is a white guilt jewish plot. The Russian government pays 4chan to keep this shit up.

>Fonda proves that the murder weapon might not actually be the murder weapon
>He proves that the kid can't have stabbed his dad because of the height difference
>He and the old man prove that the witness testimonies are unreliable
I don't get why the chuds are so upset over the verdict. Maybe they see themselves too much in the racist juror, so they simply resent the film for shaming their views. The case seems pretty clear cut to me. There is reasonable doubt, and the accused is always innocent until proven guilty. Not guilty.

Cope, seethe and dilate, chuds. You lost this one.
>>
>>220978252
Correct but the defendant isn't white so he should be sent to Liberia.
>>
>>220977992
this. Leo Frank was innocent
>>
>>220977839
The the chuds would literally not care.

Yes, one of the few films where the villain wins

The very thing that you will never be! It's perfect irony.

"Common sense" is invariably an excuse for bullshit
>>
>>220976956
You should automatically doubt anyone who will benefit from (or suffer no consequences for) putting an innocent man to death
>>
>>220976956
anon it would be “commie” to automatically trust government officials over citizens.
>>
>>220978252
Fonda should have been shot for bringing a knife.
>>
>>220979606
Why?
>>
>>220978252
>Fonda proves that the murder weapon might not actually be the murder weapon
A coincidence doesnt prove the knife isn't rare.

>He proves that the kid can't have stabbed his dad because of the height difference
He could have its just would have been an awkward position. Nothing that wouldnt happen in a heated spur of the moment exchange

>He and the old man prove that the witness testimonies are unreliable
Conjecture and an unproven hypothetical

Yes conviction as soon as they walk in isnt right but it crossed the line from being neutral parties looking at the facts as presented and become advocates for the defense. They should no more do that than be partial to the prosecution. thats not justice.
>>
>>220979755
What makes you think you're allowed to bring a knife?
>>
>>220979797
What makes you think you're not allowed to bring a knife?
>>
>>220979761
>A coincidence doesnt prove the knife isn't rare.
No one ever proved the knife was rare in the first place. The burden of proof is on the prosecution, and juror 8 clearly demonstrates that the knife is not a unique design, so it can't be definitely linked to the accused.

>He could have its just would have been an awkward position. Nothing that wouldnt happen in a heated spur of the moment exchange
Juror 5 demonstrates the the kid very likely would have used an underhand grip, which does not line up with the wound considering the height difference.

>Conjecture and an unproven hypothetical
A very large portion of the film is spent on dissecting the plausibility of the eyewitness testimony. You can throw out all the buzzwords you want, but that does not change the fact that the old man could not possibly have reached the staircase in time, and that the woman had to see the murder through a passing train at night with impaired vision.

This character is so fucking real. I have known this guy at least three times in my life, my chemistry teacher, the doctor I apprenticed under, and a church organist, and they were all this exact person. Wise, empathetic, stalwart and left-leaning. I love this guy, I wish he was my dad.

Went to go early life the writer and was surprised to see he also wrote The Wild Geese which is a wild military kino where the shoot tons of Africans. Although there's a whole racial sub-plot to it... meh... the writer seems to be confused about a lot of things.
>>
>>220981343
You didn't do your due diligence: Reginald Rose, author of the drama-turned-teleplay-turned-film, was merely hired to adapt Daniel Carvey's unpublished novel "Thin White Line" into the screenplay for "The Wild Geese" as part of a larger deal where in return for letting the studio make a movie out of it they'd publish it for Carney as a tie-in. The whole thing is just a fictionalized account of real warfare that took place in Zaire between President Mobutu & PM Tshombe. It's all there on the wikipedia article for the film.
To insist that Reginald is "confused" about anything just because he wanted to make a buck is ludicrous.

>woah there goy! here's some absurd hypotheticals to prime you for the tales of the holohoax

He killed the dad, right?

Great study in emotional manipulation. The defendant is obviously guilty on the merits of the fact but the film is designed to convince you otherwise using social pressures and peer approval.
