I worked at a theater years ago.
After Knives Out was in theaters for months and getting few tickets we would randomly get large crowds for it. Some of them corporate team building stuff, I assume.

But it sort of happened with other movies too which would make me wonder if some epic news story or viral video is grabbing the attention of millions of people to start buying tickets months after opening week.

If mando somehow makes 300 million over the weekend, just assume disney deployed their troops to buy seats so they can say "LOOK GUYS! IT WAS JUST A SLEEPER HIT. THATS ALL! WE DONT HAVE TO SELL BACK TO LUCAS. WE'RE TREATING STAR WARS JUST FINE!"
