I like when its revealed that the police and army are in on it. . But this movie works if you just watch it as clips but not as a whole movie.

If Alfred Hitchcock lived long enough to see it, I think he would consider it the scariest movie ever made. It freaked me out as a kid.

That's the thing, the director did a limited theatrical run and then declared that it would never be put on streaming or physical media. I hope he was full of shit so I can see it again, as well as other Anons being able to watch it. It was pretty good bizarre entertainment, with a prosthetic I'll never forget.

Hokum was pretty good, but a step down from Oddity and Caveat. Everything about this one just felt more traditional hollywood, had some great suspense build ups but nothing that came even close to caveat and oddity

>>220985115
>>
>>220985143

>>
>>220985045
>>220985098
it's shit. scary movie 6 is shit
feels like a bunch of SNL sketches put together without much sense.

a lot of cringey political humor. ( no problem with offensive humor, but these jokes are so played out and just annoying)
the new cast is fucking shit. anna Farris daughter in the movie is fucking awful
>>
>>220985143
Really? I'll admit, I've seen a lot of people trashing it as well. We're just gonna have to see it for ourselves.

>>220985167
Could be cringekino but a lot of people think parody humor is cringe in general so who knows. I do think it's odd they chose Regina King to play Ma but it probably doesn't matter.
>>
>>220985246
Regina Hall* I meant
>>
>>220985246
scary movie 6 is not like 1 or 2 or 3.
it's more like meet the Spartans or like disaster movie.
a lot of unrelated scenes with set ups for jokes that don't pay off.
some jokes are funny but the plot itself is shit. the new cast is in unbearable and unfunny. the old cast doesn't get much screentime.
new ghostface is kind of annoying.
>>
>>220985307
Sounds like garbage…
>>
>>220985367
the other problem is that this is like a deadpool movie, everyone is Deadpool.
in scary movie 1 and 2 they were technically " real people" in the sense that there was a real plot and they were in danger.

this one everyone is breaking the 4th wall constantly and mentioning real life stuff like their careers or real world politics.

and expect a lot of recycled jokes from scary movie 1
>>
>>220985391
And you went to the theaters for it
I don’t know.
>>
>>220983835
It's absolutely the pinnacle of Aykroyd's career, as a kid I was terrified by it. Studio wanted him to make another Beetlejuice but this was WAY darker.
>>
>>220985045
>>220985143
>>220985246
It's not as bad as I thought it would be, given the amount of people talking shit about it. It's objectively not as good as 1 and 3, and people will say it's worse than 2 and 4, even though those movies got completely slammed critically when they came out. People only really started liking Scary Movies 2-4 several years after they came out. These types of movies are fucking hard first-time watches because there's so much jam packed into them and it's a lot to process. Again, it's still technically bad, just not as bad as everyone's making it out to be. Not nearly as bad as 5.

Have fun, Anon! I haven't seen the first three ones in a while. From The Omen I remember a final scene on a spooky cemetery. Stephen King didn't like Kubrick's Shining, but Kubrick's version is definitely the better one even if he took some liberties with King's book. Carpenter's Thing is also better than the 1950s film it's a remake of. And the Silence of the Lambs is just a classic by this point that's definitely worth re-watching.

Have fun!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AI_slop#In_film_and_television
>Some films have received backlash for including AI-generated content. The film Late Night with the Devil was criticized by some reviewers for its use of AI-generated images. Several low-quality AI-generated images were used as interstitial title cards, with one image featuring a skeleton with inaccurate bone structure and poorly-generated fingers that appear disconnected from its hands.

It's OK if AI generates a 5 second sequence of the Mighty Kraken swallowing a sailing ship whole for some History Channel TV show that's not to be taken seriously. For a movie that costs money in a cinema I expect something better.
>>
>>220991370

I can't see AI not being better than the average syfy experience
Even high budget ones like the new Final Destination have pretty distracting CGI in some scenes

If by "some scenes" you mean EVERY death scene, you know, the only thing people watch Final Destination for. Insane how fans eat this shit up and praise it was the best entry yet even though the filmmakers are half assing the deaths as PS3 cutscene CG. Terrifier and Saw are at least keeping their gory set pieces as practical.

I love the whole film. There's expertise in every part: the script, the cinematography, the acting, the music. It's over two hours long but in this case the story is engaging and interesting. It's shot on film and on location for just 38 million dollars. How is it that these days films cost 250 million and all they manage is CGI and greenscreen?

It's absolutely underrated. People take the face that the film Isn't Very Good and then they overlook the aesthetic brilliance, the sheer creativity, the grotesquerie of it all. But I try showing it to people and they always go "this sucks", looking at it holistically. The forest sucks but the trees are sooooo good.

if you're against ai you should be against cgi. they both produce similar results ( a computer creating something)
I wish that the ai haters started boycotting cgi completely, specially because now cgi and special effects programs will start to have an integrated into them.
your computer will run with ai. your smart phone already runs with ai.

if you hate ai that much get a fucking flip phone and avoid all social media, twitter, Instagram, Google, YouTube they are heavily ai.
you don't have to love ai, but these people spend all day long on ai social media websites like Instagram or twitter while complaining about ai.....

and if you say
>no we only hate ai art
okay what companies create ai art?
meta, Google, twitter, microsoft. apple.
is your android phone running with Google? then it has Gemini ai. your apple phone is running on apple ai
throw away your phone, get a phone from before 2020.
you're anti ai right? stop using ai products.

False equivalence
CGI is more artistic and takes more human effort to produce

Not r4ally. I think the right has become so kiked out that it's become impossible to support them. Definitely a lesser of two evils situation.

AI is like a worse version of CGI. Both of them lack the physical quality of SFX, but your brain can still process CGI with the idea that intentional human storytelling is happening.

Those are people who are about to replace. Not to go into full economic mode, but those are people are probably lower class and/or the bottom 80% about to be part of the underclass.

Artists have always been middle / upper class, whether it was 2000 years ago, 500 years ago, or today.
Lower classes do not have the free time to engage in art, nor do they have the money to buy all the equipment and supplies necessary, nor do they have the connections needed to get noticed.

cgi takes longer using much more electricity. cgi makes budgets higher. cgi makes release dates longer
I'm not saying that cgi and ai are equal in their development,
but they give equal results, you are absolutely right that cgi takes longer and involves a human being clicking a computer mouse hundreds of times.
yes.
but the result is gonna be the same. in the sense that it is a computer generated monster or background or whatever.
>>220995829
personally I prefer practical effects over cgi or even ai. give me real sets. give me real monsters. give me real fur, real fangs.
but if everything is gonna look like a marvel movie, then just change to ai. might as well.
The Last Episode of STRANGER THINGS and the last fight of THE BOYS kinda sucked for example.
but the fans used ai to create new versions of both, and they looked better.
a random guy on his laptop created a more satisfying ending with ai ( they are online somewhere)

>>220995856
a lot of them are women in human resources jobs or digital jobs. anything computer based like data jobs or filing jobs or secretary jobs are fucked

>>220996228
is not about "blaming " anyone.
but for example Tyrone Magnus on YouTube havms been pretty against ai. that's ok. but then he uses ai for his thumbnails. so.......why? lol.
asmongold is pretty anti ai. but he uses grok every day to ask stuff
again.....why? lol. ( tim Dillon is very anti ai, but he will use Google ai constantly. )

I see hundreds of posts on Twitter and Instagram shitting on ai. people spend 7 hours on social media daily.
but, those social media sites ARE fully ai.

if you are going to boycott horror movies for using ai, why are YOU using ai companies every single day?
that's also the retardation that red letter media and specially Jay has. they hate ai, they shit on ai. but they use ai whenever they Google anything.....
( there are non AI alternatives to ai programs, bluesky is very anti ai. use bluesky instead of twitter)
>>
>>220996316
>>220996459
I see at least 1 million people being anti ai. maybe is 10 million.
Guillermo del Toro is anti ai

imagine if 10 million people dropped Instagram and Facebook and TikTok etc
imagine you create a boycott. the news would report on that.
imagine that instead of using twitter, all the anti ai people moved to bluesky.
Google without ai: Startpage
Google maps without ai: OpenStreetMap
if you hate ai, just don't use ai?

>ai consumes water and ai destroys the environment
then let's ban avocados too, cashews, peanuts, farming wastes hundreds of gallons of water. while ai can be a problem with the water, let's boycott and ban avocados .
no it's not a false equivalency. ai wasting water might be a problem. but we can start solving other problems like avocado farming

If farming disappeared overnight, what sector of society would suffer? If AI data centers disappeared overnight, what sector of society would suffer?
>>
>>220993345
I mentioned The Cars That Ate Paris in an earlier thread. That's an earlier similarly weird one.
>>
>>220996837
it's not All farming
but if avocados and cashews and peanuts disappeared from earth. who is afflicted?
do you need peanuts and avocados to survive?

as for data centers, I heard that hospitals are using ai heavily now. I've heard health workers say that ai is used not only for diagnoses but also for treatment and other things.

Finance & Banking: Fraud detection, algorithmic trading, credit scoring, risk assessment, and chatbots. Disruptions could halt transactions, increase fraud, and slow markets

Healthcare & Life Sciences: Medical imaging analysis, diagnostics, drug discovery (e.g., AlphaFold), patient monitoring, and administrative tasks. Delays in care and research would occur

Transportation & Logistics: Autonomous vehicles, route optimization, traffic prediction, and drone/warehouse automation.

Daily Life: Search, maps, streaming, smart assistants, and many apps would degrade or revert to basic versions. Payments, bookings, and navigation might face hiccups

I'm glad you asked that question because I can give a detailed answer.
>>
>>220996837
if data centers disappear

Apps and Websites That Would Largely End or Become Unusable
These services rely heavily on centralized cloud data centers:
Social Media & Communication:
Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger (Meta)
X (Twitter), Threads
TikTok, Snapchat
Discord, Slack, Microsoft Teams
Email services like Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo Mail
Streaming & Entertainment:
YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, Spotify, Hulu, Twitch
Most video and music platforms
E-commerce & Retail:
Amazon, Shopify stores, eBay, Walmart online

Most online shopping sites
Search & Information:
Google Search, Google Maps
Bing, and many others (even "independent" ones often use cloud hosting)

Productivity & Cloud Apps:
Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive)
Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, OneDrive)
Dropbox, iCloud, OneDrive
Notion, Evernote, etc.

Finance & Banking:
Most banking apps, PayPal, Venmo, Stripe, credit card processors
Trading platforms like Robinhood, Coinbase

Transportation & Services:
Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, Airbnb
Booking.com, Expedia

News & Media:
Most major news websites, Wikipedia (to some extent), Reddit

Other Major Services:
Apple services (iCloud, App Store partially)

Many government portals, healthcare patient portals, education platforms (Zoom, Canvas)

In short: Anything running in the cloud — which is the vast majority of popular apps and websites today — would go offline or severely degrade.

I suffer because I eat a peanut butter sandwich every single day. Peanuts are also legumes so they're good for the soil you peanut hater.

>hospitals
until ai makes healthcare costs plummet they can eat shit.

>>220996971
we had all those things before ai tho
>>
>the girl was cute
>>
>>220997341
you're correct. we have everything before ai. banking. maps, Myspace. hospitals.
but unfortunately ( or fortunately) ai is injected into every aspect of your life.
a lot of stuff would stop working for days without it.
my only point is, why attack movie makers for using ai but you don't boycott your bank or your local Walmart. everyone hates on ai art but you trust ai with your Google maps.with your medicine. when do you see anyone shitting on banks or hospitals for heavily use ai. PayPal is full ai. and you trust PayPal with your money
>>
>>220997330
I didn't mind the setup or cast at all but i hated the way it played out. Haven't bothered with the new one, I think I'm done with it.
>>
>>220997437
I don't use paypal and if any human service relies on non-human actors to function it deserves to fail until the prices they charge plummet.
>>
>>220996472
>I prefer practical effects over cgi or even ai. give me real sets. give me real monsters.
I agree, and is another argument against modern horror being better. They just use cgi now. But cgi always looks hyper-realistic. Even in pixar type movies, everything looks more computer generated than animated or practical. In contrast, I've seen a lot of ai that replicates a more practical effect look. For that reason, I would almost prefer it over cgi in movies
