Could it be made into a premium TV series? Each book a season.
>>220990910Erikson wanted it to be a TV series originallyI think it's ultimately too "weird" to really adapt to screen.
there are way too many characters for it to be watchable by normies.
idk wouldn't be surprised if the precipitously expensive Wheel of Time flop stymed the rush to make a Game of Thrones rival, think those streaming wars have moved on. Erikson is very pragmatic and understands the needs of adaptation, that it's not the same thing. He's very flexible in changing, omitting, adding to make it work but a few times now initial talks don't get very far from producer's cold feet.3D animation could work but, honestly I'd be happy with just like a series of fresh stories more amenable to prestige TV storytelling within the Malazan world - follow the Bridgeburners on some new side story campaign, god knows there's enough fantastical auxillary characters to intermingle without fucking up canon.or try to just start with a solid Deadhouse Gates adaptation.
>>220990910No. Siege of Pale would be a huge investment and that's just the opening act.
>>220990910no. too many charactersyou could make a bridgeburner show though
>>220990910Needs to be animated. This would look like fucking One Piece if it was live action.
>>220990910I can't imagine they'd adapt the Chain of Dogs storyline faithfully. That shit is so depressing even by grimdark fantasy standards that I just can't imagine any studio having the balls to adapt it. Following a bunch of cool ,likeable and badass characters for a whole season in their epic underdog story only to end with them all being tortured and crucified to death is so deeply miserable and bleak that even nihilistic modern TV would shy away from it. That shit made me legit depressed when I read it back in high school. And that was by far the most "human" storyline in the series.
>>220990910remember WoT or GoT? Yep, bad idea.
