If the backrooms make copies of everything, do they make copy of guns , or explosives, or nukes? That would pose a national thread.

It doesn't make copies of everything or else its baseline wouldn't be that horrid yellow wall paper with light fixtures manufactured in 1972.

The copies constantly degrade. Say you know how to build a gun, but you haven't done so in a decade. You might remember some basic components then some of the finer parts are lost on you, with more time your memory would degrade more and you might even start misremembering parts that didn't exist at all.
