Episode 7 wasn't awful as a standalone, it was definitely soullessly catering to the opinions of the time but it's reasonably well paced and looks good. However its story doesn't stand on its own(unlike Episode 4) due to the mystery box bullshit among other things and so it's inseparately tied to the Sequel Trilogy as a whole, which should just be retconned and forgotten about.

I don't want to make a new thread, but I'm halfway through Rogue One after finishing both seasons of Andor and it feels like that meme about NPCs going back to generic dialogue after their personal quest. Every 3 minutes in RI is just new scene, new characters and rushed dialogue to move the plot along. Andor wasn't the best, but holy shit was it good compared to this movie.
