The people making this just straight up used the Plinkett reviews a reference for how the movie should look and feel didn’t they

Yes. There was a part where an animatronic is in the foreground and is deliberately on the lower end of contemporary animatronics just so you know it's not CGI. I literally cringed at that scene knowing Jay Bauman soifaced at it. THOUGH this movie might predate the term soiface.

RLM fans are all shitposters and trolls, but there is a very small amount of truth to this.

One of the first proto-soijaks was made in response to the movie, pic related.
But the soiface out-dates soijaks by quite a bit actually.

cuck/soiboy face i think originated ~2015 iirc but back then it was about the faces soilent bugmen actually made in all their photos instead of the soijaks eventually made to mock them.

What a horrible night to be on /tv/
>>

>The people making this just straight up used the Plinkett reviews a reference for how the movie should look and feel didn’t they

Down to the last detail.

Exactly why it's just a soulless remake of the original 1977 movie.
>>
>>220993874
I’ll be fair and say a competent Ep IV remake was what they had to do AT THE TIME to restore faith in the franchise. It hasn’t aged well tho
>>
Episode 7 wasn't awful as a standalone, it was definitely soullessly catering to the opinions of the time but it's reasonably well paced and looks good. However its story doesn't stand on its own(unlike Episode 4) due to the mystery box bullshit among other things and so it's inseparately tied to the Sequel Trilogy as a whole, which should just be retconned and forgotten about.

You mean "What an awesome night to be on /tv/"
>>

>to restore faith in the franchise.

Faith in the franchise being lost was a low-grade psy-op.

ROTS was a massive hit and The Clone Wars series was Cartoon Network's highest rated programming.

Which is fine, because whatever the problems the sequels have, they look a hell of a lot better than the prequels.

No, Plinkett reviews were created to shill Disney Wars and its ideas.
You have it ass-backwards.
>>
>>220994247
Except that they predate them and the ideas espoused in them had the most currency in the years leading up to EP7
>>
>>220994410
>Except that they predate them
RLM was created the same year Disney started pressuring George to sell his IP.

Yeah bro, it is a complete coincidence to make review of Phantom Menace a decade after it was released, completely organic.

YouTube is more mainstream than ever now, and it would still be a ludicrous thing to say today. You must be insane if you think it would have been a thing in 2014.

You're right. Most anons here are dumb.

The PS2-era graphics in the senate are intended to symbolize the simulacrum Palpatine has woven to hide tyranny and wanton corruption beneath a false veneer of responsible leadership and democratic principle that no longer truly exists.
>>
>>220996350
Nice try but the first time we see the senate is in Episode I which was shot non digitally and it actually has aged well and maybe looks ps3 if you are watching a real film stock print.

>>220993937
>a competent Ep IV remake was what they had to do AT THE TIME to restore faith in the franchise
I hate this logic. It's not either make nonsense trash or copy-paste what people enjoyed.

It's still better than The Phantom Menace or Attack of the Clones. The only prequel that is arguably better is Revenge of the Sith and even then that movie has such major fuck ups that I have a hard time even giving the point to it over TFA.
>>
>>220993584
>>220995089
>>220995499
It's strange that people deny it. Simon Pegg was very publicly vocal about the Plinkett reviews being spot on and something everyone should absorb and accept. I would attach his tweet but you aren't allowed from an incognito window on this retarded site. So just search it up. Anyway so when Disney brought him on as their 'fan demands consultant', of course he say them down and either recounted or even had them watch the Plinkett reviews.
>>
>>220996800
*sat them down

>It's still better than The Phantom Menace or Attack of the Clones.
Shitty bait.
>>
>>220996840
Attack of the Clones is one of the most hideous movies ever made. That droid factory looks like a windows 98 screensaver
>>
>>220996840
Stop overrating the prequels to crazy levels.
>>
>>220996840
How is it bait? TPM and especially AOTC are bad films.
>>
>>220996840
I don't agree with him either, but Attack of the Clones is abysmal on every level but the score. "Across the Stars" is its one redeeming feature.
>>
>>220996893
It's still better than the sequels lol. And yes it's one of the worst movies ever made.
>>
>>220997161
>still better
No it isn't.
>>
>>220997223
The prequels are stupid and terrible and they're all much better than any of the sequels. There is nothing to like about any of the sequel films.
>>
>>220993584
Why don't they want to take credit for killing george
>>
I don't want to make a new thread, but I'm halfway through Rogue One after finishing both seasons of Andor and it feels like that meme about NPCs going back to generic dialogue after their personal quest. Every 3 minutes in RI is just new scene, new characters and rushed dialogue to move the plot along. Andor wasn't the best, but holy shit was it good compared to this movie.
>>
>>220997876
Yeah Rogue One is shit and the only people who like it are nostalgiafags that ironically shit on TFA for the very same things they praise Rogue One for.
>>
>>220993584
Those "cinephile" retards should shill sequels like crazy fucks. This is what they wanted Star Wars to be, kekw.
>>
>>220994130
I think you need to buy a new pair of glasses or something.
>>
>>220994130
No he's right, TLJ is visually the best star wars. Too bad the prequels are better
>>
>>220998454
Visually yes, but that's it when it comes to positive elements of TLJ.
