>we're a genuinely serious legitimate cinema
>no phones and no talking
>oh but drinking, constant clinking of utensils, waiters coming and going, hearing the noises of food being eaten and swallowed, that's totally fine
>>
OP is correct and Alama are a bunch of fucking frauds
>>
Do they still sell those sliders? Those things are based

>t. never been to one

they just got rid of their classic pencil-and-paper ordering system and replaced it with some dogshit mobile app. no one likes it. i don't foresee myself going there anymore.

PEGs continue to rape this country day by day.

Nah. People with busy lives and multiple jobs can never turn off their phones. They'll miss the important "hey do you want to work tomorrow overtime at x1.5 pay?" texts.
>>
For me it's the popcorn shrimp at Six Bag Cinemas. It's got a Cajun kick with just a liiiittle bit of heat.
>>
>>220996877
I've never seen anyone on their phone either in America. It's probably some bullshit that happens in esl countries.

>hearing the noises of food being eaten
You're suffering from some form of autism and don't belong around large groups of people.

does Mr. Woods himself make all of these white&blessed comments or is this a fake account or something?

I like the comfy seats
but the food genuinely pisses me off
can america not stop shoving fucking sysco slop into their fat fucking faces for like 2 hours?

Utensil food should not be served in cinemas.

I met a guy at a /k/ meetup and we hung out and saw starship troopers at alamo Drafthouse with his friends and I had a big chocolate milkshake it was a fun night. I even got a poster for the vidja game Prey which I didn't even know about at the time but damn that's a fun game. Wish I kept in touch with him.
Also saw a lot of cool movies with my bros in Austin I remember getting a whole pitcher of shiners and watching robocop 2014 with them and talking about it after.
I guess I just can't keep friendships going idk I feel like an alien or something other people just seem to understanding this sort of thing but it doesn't work for me.

I'm just sick of every activity in American life just becoming a pretense to stuff yourself full of food and alcohol. I get that it's the fault of our fake n gay economy that the margins on most forms of entertainment are tiny and the real money is made in upcharging for food service, but it gets so tiresome that you can't just enjoy a simple activity without being constantly pestered to spend an additional $90 on mediocre shit. "Bro, come out to the new bowling alley, the waitress comes right up to the lanes bro, we can get their famous 9 pin gin and lemonade tonic. Dude then we can go to the Alamo and order a fucking huge plate of pulled pork, and get this, we can it eat DURING the movie. And then afterwards I know this great arcade that's also--you're never going to believe this--a bar!"

Elijah and Topher Grace are just normal guys.

I was thinking about this. Even in a completely quiet room I can only occasionally hear internal mouth sounds like chewing and swallowing. This scenario either exists completely in OPs imagination or he went to the theater with the express purpose of confirmation bias

This. There's no such thing as people eating loudly. That doesn't happen.
>>
>>220999740
Whats upcharging?
>>
>>220999866
I dunno dog what's up with you
>>
>>220999823
Sarcasm aside it's anecdotally true in the context of the dozen or so times Ive been to theaters with food. Never had anyone chewing loud enough to be heard over theater volume speakers. Id have to be actively listening for it like my confirmation bias comment before
>>

i've never had a problem with the noises of other people eating (it certainly isnt any different than crunchy popcorn and nachos, or crinkling wrappers), and the seating structure (at least in 2008 when i last went) was good enough that i literally never noticed any waiters.

the only current problem is that their mobile app shit makes people pull out their bright ass phones during the darkness of the movie and its highly noticeable and distracting.
