Honest answer: Romulus had some good parts, and it was nice to see something closer to Alien than the silly Prometheus crap, but it's not really that great. I can watch Alien, Aliens, and even Alien 3 many times and still enjoy them. I tried rewatching Romulus again and I had to turn it off before half way. The characters are annoying, the company is parody levels of evil now, the jokes are obnoxious and cringeworthy, the skinnyman xeno at the end was very idiotic and a terrible direction to go in. Romulus was only good for a one time viewing to me and I don't really care if they make a sequel since I don't care where they would go with it.
