Same here, anon. I was in a construction tech program where we built houses for low-income families in high school and then I enlisted in the military. After those experiences, I knew damn sure U wasn't going to be a physical laborer to make money. Working at a large outdoor site and like half the day on 8 hour days is driving around, waiting for permits to be signed and "meetings" where the supervisor just says don't get hurt good luck and everyone uses their phones for 30 minutes. Compared to when I worked in IT I actually work way less and get paid way more too, and the work is seasonal so I get laid off for the winter and make as much on unemployment as I did at my old IT job. The union I'm in gets us pretty sick raises too and overtime pays really good. It doesn't get much better than that.

Hours of retarded mandated "training" online, constant meetings about harassment and a bunch of rules and regulations put on the books by people who don't work the job. During the Early Modern Era, peasants who acquired a bit of money would abandon their name and spend good money on constructing fancy names and heraldry insisting they were part of the leisured class. There is no inherent value in paid labor beyond what you give to it.
>>

Yeah, back in my 20’s, I was a cashier in a store that was only busy 2 weeks out of the year. I only made $13/hr, though

Healthcare is a good mix of both, anon. You're inside where the temperature is nice and you don't typically get too dirty, but you're up doing things that keep you active and busy. You actually help people and make a difference in people's lives, so what you do every day feels meaningful. You can start out as a nurse's aid with no education and then go to school. It only takes a year to be a Licensed Practical Nurse and you would make around $30 an hour depending where you live. If you're keep going to school you rank up and make even more money. I never thought I'd end up with a master's degree in nursing, but here I am as a nurse practitioner, I make $130,000 a year, and love my job and the life it affords my family and I.
Seriously look into healthcare. Lots of good career opportunities that you might not even know existed. Ever heard of an Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapist Assistant? It's a dream job.

Goddamn, what a moron. So fucking stupid to do this and risk permanently crippling yourself or dying to look cool and save a little bit of time.
I bet he swims in barskank pussy down at the local dive bar after work, though.
>>
I move boxes around for 20/hr part-time (5 hour shifts). My coworkers with slightly higher position make 3 dollars more than me and get to listen to music so that’s my current goal.

This would all be very very cool if I was college age but I turn 28 soon.

For reason, the guys who worked construction when they were younger and then transferred to IT jobs later were always on a different level. There has to be something to it.

It's almost like doing something you enjoy is better than being a mindless wagie.

its a dumb job but some tard is gonna do it

why would you want to work outside? 5 minutes in the sun without protection and you get skin cancer. not fucking worth it.

I don’t really see any shitheads in the warehouse I’m at. Mostly a lot a lot a lot of blacks but not even the N kind really.

I always laugh at physical laborers/blue collar folks when they act superior about their job. I'm a professor and make $130k doing basically nothing. My only real responsibility is teaching two classes a semester and then I get to choose what to do with the rest of my time. No boss. No need for permission to "take time off." No stress at all, physical or mental. But whatever, enjoy having a broken body at the age of 50, you fags. You sure are manlier than me!

Some companies are really shitty about it but the unwritten rule is you need to be responsive if someone needs something from you. The trick is to drag out your work in a way that's reasonable.
>>
>>221011274
i mean professors do have it much easier, so even if he's lying about being one hes right. grading papers isnt hard, teaching isnt particularly hard either.
>>
>>221011319
Real professors also have to do research and publish often.
>>
>>221011358
and most research they publish is horseshit.
>>
>>221011358
>>221011274
I do research and publish. But that's not stressful. I get to choose what I want to write about. Not a big deal. And I still work in my own time; no schedule is dictated for me. For what it's worth, I'm in legal academia so the expectation for tenure is one law review article per year. Not a big lift. My school is lower ranked so they dot care about me publishing in top tier law revkws. And if you truly knew what you were talking about, you'd note that committees are the biggest pain in the ass for professors. But I work on a chill faculty so it's alright.

yikes, would not want to get taught by you at your shit school

If manual labor is so great why didnt Mike Judge do it

I like the feeling of working with my hands and seeing something become accomplished in physical space. Sure, physical issues happen, but we all decay eventually. I enjoy utilizing my body to its full potential in the prime of my life. I feel happy and clear headed pretty much every day.

Whatever, I've been on 4chan since high school. It's just a part of my life. And my students gave me great reviews this year.

What's teaching law like at a community college, and what are your thoughts on Legally Blonde 2?

The only reason basic teaching is worked up to be such a difficult soul-crushing job is because it is dominated by women

How about you go outside? I also do office work. Then I ride a bike for two hours. Then one day break. Then do dumbbell upper body routine for an hour. Then one day break. Rinse and repeat.

Worker revolution ain't happening. Americans don't have the desire or the strength. Also any revolutionary movement that targets me first is misdirected. Maybe I should be killed but not first.

Sadly funny that the leftists in America all decided on alienating young working men. The worker's revolt will be waged by HR women I guess

As I said, I am a law professor. Not specifying subjects for obvious reasons.

>>
>>221012261
>Not specifying subjects for obvious reasons.
Which is why I asked. At low tier schools and with students happy enough to leave reviews means a large student body and female dominated meaning you're "cool" or good looking (youngish) professor.
Something harmless like Civ Pro I and II would have been an acceptable out.

>>221012378
This you?

The Spanish is also useless unless you're fluent. I'm American, learned another language to the B1 level and moved overseas. Luckily everyone speaks English here so they just pat me on the head when I speak to them in their language.
>>
>>221012446
>To the B1 level
So you read memorized the 40 tiny pages of a Rick Steve's phrase book?
>>
>>221012482
Once you get the basics is pretty easy to build your skill fast when you're immersed.
>>
>>221012520
How would you know? B1 is nothing, can speak just enough for the locals to give you a try out of pity, but just bad enough that you're barely comprehensible and they just nod their heads rather than bother to untangle the mess
>>
>>221012593
I got to B1, then moved, and have improved due to immersion. Wasn't too rough when I first got here because like I said they all speak English pretty well if needed
>>
>>220999937
Now that’s a baby face

Just fuck my spine up senpai
