It's weird that there are virtually no references or scents of Oprah in the modern culture considering just how fucking MASSIVE her influence was.
>>
>>221001091
>scents
Mix cocoa butter with dirty underwear for her fragrance.
>>
>>221001091
It was a false influence. And as it occurs with all falsenesses, it is quickly forgotten.
>>
She got real small after asking the common person to donate money to Hawaii and getting blasted for it.
>>
>>221001121
h-hot!
>tfw no chocolate sugar mama who gives me an allowance and an xbox
feels bad man
>>
Never forget the over 9000 penises.
>>
What middle-aged women like is irrelevant to culture, the only time women matter is when they're teens and it's usually to sneer and cringe at the stupid shit they like and do.
>>
>>221001091
You obviously aren't a hip-hop listener.
>>
>>221001091
I know the bees thing was supposed to be a joke but it rubbed a lot of people the wrong way
>>
>>221001091
She has had everything scrubbed from the interent. She is an evil person and total control freak doesn't want people to remember that her show started out as low brow tabloid garbage and catch her out in one of her dozens of lies about her past.
>>
>>221001091
It's funny cause she acts as a "voice of black people" type person but a good chunk of black people hate her because she has "pull yourself up from your bootstraps" mindset
>>
>>221001091
And it will happen again.
Good reminder not to get too worked up about celebrities.
>>
>>221001149
you're so naive
>>
>>221001210
Now that you mention it it is weird I've never stumbled upon a clip of her show on youtube ever.
Consider she was on tv for decades and had some very controversial shows.
>>
>>221001091
I wish there were non-misogynists here to debate my hypothesis that most female-oriented culture and celebrities, because I earnestly want to know if it's true or not.
It just seems like a lot of things women are interested in fade away real quickly as soon as they segue onto the next fad.

>>221001325
To be fair, she basically did that.
>>
>>221001091
>She was a rememberin' bitch
-Paul Mooney
>>
>>221001091
You're right, she really did up and vanish. When was the last time Oprah was ever brought into the public line of sight? Crazy how much you can cram into a memory hole.
>>
it's funny to think zoomers below a certain age could watch austin powers and not get that austin saying vanessa's name is oprah is even supposed to be a joke
>>
>>221001091
isnt she like super litigious or something?
>>
>>221001091
She slowly disappeared after being implicated in Pizzagate. The same reason why Ellen left the country and vanished.
>>
>>221001091
what about when she interviewed the creator of Street Fighter Chode and had acid dunked on her and became a red skeleton and changed her name to Boneprah
>>
>>221001091
Early jewish psyop. She was completely propped up by jews, no way she would be popular organically.
>>
>>221001210
The madtv parodies of her still exist.
And are very accurate
>>
>>221001397
well then heres a mysogonistic take-
Female centered pop culture is inherently vapid and shallow and exists to get women to worship and buy stupid shit they dont need, thus the inherent culture that is tied to hollow consumerism which fails to truly reflect any ideals outside of "youre ugly if you dont like this current trendy celebrity" or absolve any underlying despair, when it falls out of fashion, is immediately tossed aside and is forgotten like an outdated prada handbag shoved into an attic or orange floral tupperware tossed into a goodwill donation bin
>>
>>221001912
>theres no way a sensationalist daytime talkshow host would get popular in the 80s and 90s
>>
>>221001130
This.
>>
>>221002029
And who was behind most of this trash?
>>
>>221002029
Yeah like Jerry Springer (jew)
>>
She drove off the PR cliff and kept going. The affable happy laughing persona we saw on her show was just that -- an exercise in role playing. She was and is, by all accounts, a tremendous cunt.
>>
>>221002053
>>221002067
almost every single fucking tv producer is a fucking kike
where does the relevancy of "jew" come in?
name an american tv show that isnt run by jews

I agree. I'm still going to say it.

That is what technology does and why ai is so scary. It will make the last 10 years totally irrelevant. Whatever you think you care about today will pale in comparison to what it will produce and how it will make you feel.

weird, i thought she was still doing her show or whatever, she's one of those only famous in america people i recognize exclusively from references
>>
>>221005176
>famous in america people i recognize exclusively from references
Same, like Jerry Springer, cool ranch Doritos, SNL or Baja Blast she exists as a thoughtform derived secondhand from Americans constantly talking about it.
>>
It is weird, I wonder what she's up to
>>
>>221005261
this, also: sopranos, the wire, oz, frazier, seinfeld and other garbage
>>
>>221001210
Same thing kind of happened with Howard Stern. How he got to judge a primetime, family orientated game show after airing the most degenerate shit on satellite radio is beyond me.
>>
she suffered from the same problem as springer where she was exclusively associated with one show and when it ended without any other presence she faded away. but unlike springer or maury associated with a specific niche talk shows like oprah are a dime a dozen nowadays so less reason for retroactive cultural reference unless you're specifically mentioning the time period she peaked in.
as for why she deliberately faded away she got fuck you money, set up her own tv network (and until 2020 a magazine) to keep the cash going and sat back to enjoy being rich
>>
>>221001091
The younger generations don't know jack about Oprah or Jay Leno because they don't upload anything to youtube. Conan and Kimmel and Fallon post things. Only in recent years did Letterman start posting anything longer than 2 minutes.

jew
>>
>>221001091
Because looking into Oprahs past and sketchy dealings would tarnish her legacy as famous-rich-black-woman and they already had to do that for Cosby. She's safe until she dies unless she literally goes above and beyond to implicate herself in something.

>>221001325
Black people hate her because she called them out and showed white america what Jamal and Tyrone were actually up to. Opened a lot of eyes.

it wasn't false as much as daytime television was only "influential" while it existed as a primary diversion for people with nothing better to do.

What does that mean? Also, Paul Mooney was a sabotuer of many a talent. A miser.

>>
>>221005402
I think its so dumb for tv networks to hoard and gatekeep all their previous intellectual data instead of having it available and making a little money. Mtv messed up with the rights for Daria by not getting all the music rights but they could still post other shows. Colbert and the daily show were closed off years back.
>>
>>221006936
you're a publicly traded company. you're spending tens of millions per episode on a show. the show is designed to make money off advertising that will interrupt your show periodically. you have a well gamed "ratings" metric that shows non-independently verifiable viewership metrics to grant value to ad space in these shows.

you upload your show to a website where people spend basically nothing and get hundreds of millions of views that are independently verifiable. your show, that you spend millions of dollars per episode to produce, does not get hundreds of millions of views, much less, even if it did, it would mean the nobodies are spending practically nothing for views compared to you. people sell your stock. you are now a defunct publicly traded company.
>>
She cornered the market on adrenochrome, time to be quiet with all that stockpile
>>
Culture is fake. Things disappear when you stop being told to talk about them. The big movies of today will be at "Oh, yeah, that happened" by next month and utterly forgotten by next year. There is no staying power amymore due to the internet.
>>
>>221007060
Funny you mention that. Networks are terrified of Youtube because they can't fudge the view numbers and the bots are too obvious.
>>
>>221007816
culture just means shared experience dawg, so you're essentially saying "shared experience doesn't exist." Which is pure mental retardation.
>>
She has to keep her head down after the part she played in Weinstein's crimes. I heard she personally and literally spread Rose McGowan's cheeks for big Harv.
>>
>>221007060
>>221007855
These are old and out of date shows that only someone interested in a snapshot of history would even watch. The ultrasound docuseries about bands and the best one hit wonder of the 90s are very niche subjects. The videos had hundreds of thousands of views from kids that were reminiscing. They had no reason to take it down besides spite. They are moron executives and living in an archaic age with their myopic leadership.
>>
>>221005261
Some songs from SNL have international relevance at least.
>>
>>221007955
it is most likely an issue where they only spent just enough to get the rights for one live broadcast of any band/guest that appeared. they aren't going to go back and negotiate with every single guest for youtube upload rights, which would end up just making more money for youtube.
>>
>>221001091
everyone knows the name Oprah its just her time has passed. her peak was before social media got so big and even then you'd have to be into that talk show shit

And she's right, same with Maya Angelou. They weren't afraid to point out that all that Civil Rights shit is over and it's time to progress beyond that, and they became pariahs among African Americans. Of course, being women also helped that.

Her sphere of influence was mainly middle class white housemoms and any relevance she had was from the husbands and sons of those house.moms noticing those women being obsessed with her
Reminder Obama got to national relevancy and likely won the presidency because of her, though. He went from being a nobody no one would ever consider for running in 2006 to being frontrunner after being on her show.
Even now, Dr. Oz on the Trump cabinet got popular through her.

Her female audience is extremely over-programmed. Always some new Doyenne to guide their thinking -- I guess it morphed into The View or some shit. Her appeal was "empathy", "a good listener'. Social issues are dime a dozen so she got most fooled.

She knows to keep her mouth shut right now. The entire world hates isreal, and those are the very types of people that gave her a career. Also the Hawaii thing where the fires ONLY targeted the homes of non-rich people, then opra and some investment jews went around buying up all the property the fires had conveniently cleared

>You're right, she really did up and vanish. When was the last time Oprah was ever brought into the public line of sight? Crazy how much you can cram into a memory hole.
It kept getting pointed out how many sleaze balls she was associated with.
Likely, she paid a crapload of money to publicists to be forgotten.
There were plenty of photos of Oprah with Harvey Weinstein, seeming to offer up victims, and then Obama, who also decided to disappear mostly after Trump got elected the second time, and “John of God” the Brazilian supposed religious conman who was accused of hundreds of rapes and sentenced to almost 500 years of prison.
I forget what else.
Gaile King, Oprah’s alleged lesbian significant other is still around, so Oprah just presumably decided to duck and cover after the crapload of scandals hit.
>>
>person retires

tv is shocked by this concept.

lol wow you are dumb, zoomer… obama won because bush was hated and then the economy crashed. dem was inevitable just a matter of obama or hilldawg.

oprah created dr. phil who has been pumping rightoid retardation into… middle aged white women for decades now.

>>221007060
Talk shows are largely worthless filler TV that most people aren't going to be interested in when it's no longer relevant. Interviews might have some value. The rest? Not so much. Uploading every episode as-is would be expensive as a bunch of the early stuff (which might not reflect well on her as she started off on the trashier TV side of things) is certainly trapped on tapes that need to be digitized.

Hilariously, Rosie O'Donald started uploading full episodes of her talk show to YouTube. Her channel got suspended for copyright issues, lol.
