Return has a fair few issues, but how can anyone who supposedly loved Star Wars hate it? The primary plot of the trilogy (Luke's journey) has an essentially perfect conclusion. I honestly don't know if it's even possible to write a more satisfying conclusion. It's honestly very impressive that they nailed the ending as well as they did. It literally defined what Star Wars is, to this day.
