Was this HBO's first killer app?
>>221008459No.
>>221008459This was just a testbed for HBO to see what they could get away with. Turns out it was a lot.
>>221008459Oz is weird, not a real "bad episode" but plenty of awful story arcs that somehow manage to be entertaining for the most part.
>>221008571it's never been about entertainment you stupid goy
>>221008571Everything involving Ryan and his retard brother was downright bad storytelling
>>221008459>>221008531Larry Sanders and Oz were always pretty niche from memory. The first killer app was probably Sex and the City. That's when I first recall an HBO show becoming a major mainstream hit, quickly followed by Sopranos. Here in Aus it was picked up by a network to broadcast and I remember a big deal being made of the fact that "fuck" was said in the show even though it was only once and at the end.
>>221008695O'Reilly surviving beyond his first day is the most unrealistic thing in the entire show. Even the aging pills debacle.
>>221008459I never could get into Oz. Just too hardcore for my taste. I would catch an episode every now and then and be reminded I hated violent prison torture kind of shit.
