the entire premise of using humans for energy is retarded

otherwise it's 10/10 kino in EVERY regard, I agree
>>
>>221015247
It was supposed to be humans used for CPU but normies of the 90s and early 2000's didnt know shit about computers so it didnt work well with test audiences
>>
>>221015247
They really should have gone with the original explanation that humans were used as biological computers
>>
>>221015247
They wanted to have human brains as cpus or something more coherent but the suits said that “the average cinema goer won’t understand.” So they settled on a simple concept instead

True. The machines must've been too retarded to know the viable long term strategy was space mining for resources. But it made sense to me that the depletion of natural non renewable resources would be cause for turning humans into self cannibalizing batteries.
>>
>>221015395
NTA but he has a point regardless. Too many otherwise good films at the time were ruined by blue/green filter. It was basically required if it was an action film.
>>
>>221014032
This an Schwarzenegger's Total Recall. Both have relentless pacing, don't waste a moment of time, and challenge you philosophically.
>>
>>221015439
Matrix invented the blue/green filter or 2000s aesthetic whatever you wanna call it
>>
>>221014654
if a normie falls a sleep, is it good movie?
>>221014731
I think it was meh. Should have gotten more attention when it came out, but the premise is just all over the place.
>>221015247
the fact I wrote an entire fan fic to justify this bullshit is why this movie is so good.

Robocop is the best movie.

The Matrix is for goths.

I saw Jurassic Park in theaters on premiere day when I was like 5. Nothing beat that experience until I saw The Matrix in theaters on premier day as an 11 year old.

You seriously cannot comprehend what it was like to be fucking ELEVEN YEARS OLD, seeing this IN THEATERS, on fucking PREMIERE DAY.

DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME? ARE YOU GETTING THIS? I SAW THIS IN THEATERS THE DAY IT CAME OUT, WHEN I WAS 11.

DO YOU COMPREHEND HOW EARTH-SHATTERING THIS WAS FOR MY FUCKING PREPUBESCENT BRAIN? CAN YOU PERCEIVE WHAT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN LIKE TO BE 11 IN 1999 AND SEE THIS IN A MOVIE THEATER FULL OF BOOMERS? EVERY DECADE OF MY LIFE AFTER SEEING THIS MOVIE IN THEATERS WAS PERMANENTLY ALTERED THE VERY PREMISE AND CONCEPT OF THIS MOVIE BEING INGRAINED INTO MY PSYCHE.
>>
>>221015395
Not telling. It's irrelevant anyway. Point is, I hate the mise en scène of a lot of the things from that time.

>>
>>221014032

I wouldn't go that far, but the foreshadowing in the first act is excellent, almost a little too on-the-nose but that's all right in a sci-fi action flick.

What's really enjoyable is how Neo completely overcomes his original fear from the first act, point-by-point, when they storm the tower in the third act. Every single point where he failed or was afraid or didn't do the thing in the first act is completely reversed and overcome (he actually sees the helicopter this time, he goes UP the building to kill authorities rather than being quietly led down by them, etc).

Such kino

The story being told is fighting against an oppressive system, but the visualizations that they show is a bunch of non-white racial and sexual diversity people (including coomers and cucks) tearing down a functioning white man's society to return to African tribal cave parties with a mostly niggers in the population. I dunno if there has ever been a movie that more clearly telegraphed the intentions of the leadership in charge in white countries, and the 9/11 birthday on neos id, and the undertones that when they are in the 'real world' that it is just in another layer of the matrix, another level of control, makes it even weirder. It is a good movie, but the actual messaging and subliminal themes it is presenting I feel like are often missed by some people who watch it.

Actually, we will, assuming you're between 40 and 18. You will more than likely live to be 90+ as long as you're not some fat ass that eats burger and ice cream.

I didn't see JP in theaters, but I did see the Matrix.

I will say that no movie has completely redefined movies as much as that one during my lifetime. Trinity with the 360 camera kick in the opening scene was MIND BLOWING at the time. Seemed impossible.

> be neo
> constantly late to work
> stay up all night working on software that does 'something'
> now is exhausted when working his job
> noble and benevolent supervisor continually gives him second chances
> decides to instead associate with known terrorists
> takes mind altering drug from a strange negro man
> thinks robots have taken over the world
> ends up at a giant rave with 90% niggers
> dies in battle with someone resembling law enforcement
