I only know this movie from Zeitgeist. I then watched The Network and didn't understand a thing.

>>221019744It vastly underestimated the actual problem. So it's pretty pathetic. It actually misunderstands why things are bad in such a hilariously wrong way that it's funny.
The themes predate its era and extend all the way back to the old yellow journalism days of the 1800s. Those themes are still relevant today and will be as long as we exist as a news consuming society, but the machine that creates that news looks increasingly different today, so a lot more imagination and abstraction is going to be needed to see modern relevance in those themes.
