this was genuinely a touching, beautiful movie. i think moralfags (americans) and paranoid projectionists would struggle to truly comprehend this movie, and would sit with one cheek on the couch, but really taking this movie in really touched me in ways others haven't (and not in that way anons). It goes from a fun, cute romcom at points, to a full on psychological horror. Humbert's emotional journey is very easily followed, and Dolores comes off torturous and cruel. One thing though, after reading the archives after finishing, I guess I misunderstood Dolores crying at night to be her still mourning the death of her mother, rather than her being tortured by what she does with Humbert.overall, for me, this is a perfect movie. 10/10, 5/5.
What’s the point of adapting Lolita if you’re gonna make her 15?
>>221020972i think it was moving closer to a modern audience. a 2026 lolita would be about an 18-21 year old girl instead, and would still be viewed under the same lens.
>>221021009Better make it 25 to be safe.
>>221021027and humbert is 24. and he's still considered some cradle-robbing predator.

>>221021009I'm pretty sure that in 20-30 years anybody who wishes to view this movie will have to leave his name and address and have his picture taken.
