Take Danny DeVito or Ted Danson, huge stars on TV back in the day when that really meant something, they could then turn that into a movie career. Then at the tail end of their stardom they're back on TV. It was like a career barometer, obviously they lasted a long time, but some TV breakouts only got 1 movie before they were back in the trenches.
