>big Frasier fan
>finally watch Cheers
>episode where Frasier’s love of dogs is a plot point
fuck what the fuck the fuck is this shit

you sound too tightly wound, guy, you need to get out while you still can and never watch either again
>>

I like to think all of the Cheers retcons in Frasier are from Frasier either lying to people at Cheers out of pretentiousness or Frasier being more uptight in the Frasier era out of pretentiousness.

Like there's one scene where Frasier says his father is a scientist and died, that kinda works if you just think of it as a straight-up lie

This. Frasier seems like the type to LARP in order for people to like him.

The implication in Frasier seems to be that how he is with Niles is who he really is, but at Cheers it was him letting loose a little while still being that same pretentious person. Every acts a little different in different environments, so it's not that unusual.

Disliking Eddie immediately despite having had a dog himself on Cheers is still a bit weird
>>

>Was willing to give up the dog for his girlfriend and gives it away
>Demands dog back purely out of spite
>Completely forgets about the dog the moment girlfriend misinterprets his outburst
I'd say it was more for appearances.

I think that's a bit more about Eddie being weird rather than a dislike of dogs.

Eddie smells and stares at him non-stop.

It reflects the stilted relationship he has with his father.

People on tv shows give away their dogs too easily, it really bothers me. Niles gave up his dog for an apartment (which then later on he is able to get Eddy to be allowed in when he wants Daphne to live there with him)

>stares
>fucks up his furniture
>sleeps in his clothes in his room
>dog hair everywhere
That would piss anyone off bro. My ex's cat was like that and she loved that thing, so my head would share a pillow with its anus since she wanted it to sit in the bed with us and it always sat next to my head. I couldn't even leave my work clothes at her place since every clothing item I brought over or wore there would end up looking like a fluffy sweater.

Dogs are pretty fungible as long as it's not a shitbull. You can turn in a golden retriever and the get practically the same golden retriever 20 years later when you're ready to have one again. Just give it the same name and it's practically the same dog.

That's actually acknowledged in Frasier in the episode where Sam shows up. Frasier said he lied about Martin because he was fighting with him at the time.

That's a fucked up mentality, anon.

This applies to women too. Just ask DiCaprio
