I'm almost finished with Season 1 and it became apparent very early on that the show gets a lot better once you stop thinking about them as ranchers who do crimes and start thinking about them as organized crime who do ranch stuff. Its like The Sopranos, only instead of garbage its moo-cows.

For me it was the constant "it's white men who are raping and killing women from the reservation" scenes. The college scene was pretty cringe too. Come to think of it, almost every Monica scene is bad, which might be why they cast something so hot to try to get viewers to stick around for the stupidity.

Sounds like the spin women run media puts on things. While it is true lots of tribal women disappear in BC, rational examinations of the situation turns up that most of them are disappearing in areas where there are very few white men and lots of tribal men. The white feminists down in Vancouver came up with the story of it being white truckers being ignored by the RMCP so they could have a "rape crisis" story to push without casting a negative light on non-whites.
There's not a whole lot to RMCP can do about the situation as long as tribal women engage in risky activities with tribal men. Doubly so due to being unable to go in and conduct investigations that will show who it is doing all the raping and killing. For the women who live off of making "true crime" podcasts, this is weapons grade catnip.
