I fucking hate Netflix so much because they're one of the major reasons that all video codec development going forward is targeted towards saving bandwidth rather than preserving quality. Yeah, it's great that they're able to get a HEVC encoder to not make a 2160p video look too bad at low bitrates, but it still looks like denoised, blurry garbage that I don't care about because I don't run a fucking CDN serving video to people.
