The connective bond between people can reach across space-time. It's silly to think about, but that's the way the reality in the movie works and the audience has to accept it. The future humans want to help the past humans on Earth survive, but the future humans are outside of time and space at that point. They have super powerful means to help such as wormholes and tesseracts but can't figure out When to help. Therefore, they need Coopers love for Murph to guide them to the exact moment to send their help. It becomes a pre-destination time loop because that's also how Nolan movies tend to happen where the future people were always guiding the past people even if there was no way for the future people to get there the very first time. Anyhow, Hollywood is obsessed with the idea of Love being a powerful force akin to gravity but stronger and it's always been silly.
Miller's Planet has got to be the dumbest sequence of events in any film, second only maybe to TDKR's opening.

To do that, they contrived any reasons to make it happen even if it's silly. No actual, real astronauts would EVER think that would be a viable world or should be the first place to visit. It cost them decades to go there when it was only months to the other worlds. They could have checked out all the others first then gone back if those didn't work out and still not have been even one year yet
If they hadn't gone to black hole planet, they'd have gotten to Dr. Mann's planet sooner and before he went all crazy thinking he'd never be rescued
