>fastfood is not healthy
omg such breaking news
>>
>>221066464
>decides to make a documentary to prove that fast food is bad for you (something that most people know)
>instead proves that alcohol is bad for you (something that most people know)
the best part about the documentary is him showing how much commercials and stuff affect you, which would have been more impactful if he wasn't killing himself slowly with alcohol and super-size meals.
it is a really enjoyable documentary though
>>
>>221066464
Gentle reminder that he lied to his doctors about his alcohol use while filming the documentary who then attributed all his weight gain and health problems to eating fast food when in actuality it was because he was drinking a bottle of vodka every day.
>>
these threads feel less like criticizing a man for dishonestly excluding contextual information pertaining his documentary and more like defending a multi-billion dollar fast food corporation
>>
>>221066554
>bottle of vodka has 0,7l on averag
>around 1500kcal
damn i always underestimate how fat this alcohol makes you and also the other health issues that come with alcohol
>>
>>221066598
Are you unaware that it is quite possible to proffer legitimate criticism of a flawed documentary and the hidden agenda of its creator while also recognizing that McDonald's is a soulless corporation that exists solely to generate a profit for its shareholders?
>>
>>221066598
Americans can't handle when you critique their favourite brands
>>
>>221066641
Hardcore alkies can and often do stay skinny to normal from neglecting to eat, which makes the negative health effects from the booze even worse.

Funny enough it was the calories among many other things that finally got me to quit drinking. I've lost 20 pounds since February.
>>
>>221066656
It’s not btw.
>>
>>221066656
It's not a documentary. He HAD to have a dramatic health change or there would have been no movie. He lied about his calorie intake and no one even checked.

>>
>>221066464
Unironically fast food isn’t that bad for you if you avoid the fries and soda
>>
>*BLAUGH*
>Man I am vomiting, definitely from this cheese burger and not from my vodka addiction
He should have died in prison for lying to people
>>
>>221067147
The fries and the soda(zero calories ones) are literally the healthiest thing about them though
>>
>>221067421
Yeah, seed oils and aspartame are healthy. Not.
>>
>>221067421
….no. Fries have zero nutritional value. Burgers and sandwiches have protein and vegetables.
>>
>>221067445
>vegetables
zero nutritional value
>>
You people get hung up on his drinking but it's kind of irrelevant. Even if he were a teetotaler that wouldn't change the fact that the documentary is retarded because he was obviously consuming an entirely unreasonable amount of food in a way that no sane person ever would, and it was obviously going to be harmful regardless of being McD's or anything else.
>>
>>221067477

It's funny that they show his marriage crumbling as well. He also #metooed himself. He's dead now right?
>>

There are a lot of people who genuinely believe this. Typically carnivore diet retards
>>
>>221069012
Yeah hes dead. Most likely accelerated by his drinking.
>>
>>221066598
Who's defending McDonald's and fast food in this thread? Everyone knows this food is basically cancer for you. It's the same as smoking. I want this shit to be over as fast as possible who cares.

I remember hearing about this for the first time in middle school and went "Duh". I watched it in class in highschool and just laughed. Did McDonald's ever recommend or say their food was meant to be eaten everyday?

Michelob ultra
>>
>>221069162
Ok but in reality the food they serve you is garbage. It's usually handled by niggers and broke people who don't follow proper health standards. Whatever enjoy your worm food.
>>
>>221069089
Yeah exactly man. No one complained of course because hey it's kind if like a movie day.
>>
I remember watching this movie and the dude was throwing up after one meal because he supersized everything.
Load of propaganda bullshit. All it did was make me want a big american mcdonalds.
>>
>>221069216
It was for some marking class or bus or something. This movie did hurt McDonald's stock which I just interpreted as "People are fucking stupid". It's funny how that applies to most aspects of life unfortunately.
>>
>>221069264
Did he really throw up after the first meal? He was a vegetarian or something right?
>>
Guarantee if I did this for a month, three square meals a day, I would gain fuck all weight. Some people are just destined to be fatties by their genetics.
>>
>>221069202
Yeah, you're just an edge lord who can't speak without spouting /pol/ memes
>>
>>221069297
I think it was just a lot of food and he tried to force it down, or he wanted to push an agenda.
>>
>>221069202
>I'm scared of invisible ghosts on every surface
You know how our ancestors ate food, right? It literally doesn't matter you sound like the fucking bubble boy
>>
>>221066641
They call it a "beer gut" for a reason
>>
>>221069322
Calling niggers nigger isn't a meme it's how I genuinely feel. Fast food locations are run by low IQ dipshits and children who don't care about sanitation.
>>
>>221066641
It's not even the alcohol but the sugar spike it produces. And then you crave more food. Just like sugary drinks make you fat too
>>
>>221069368
>Invisible ghosts
Let me spit on your burger and see if you'd still eat it. Our ancestors lived till 28 and died of diarrhea because they ate something spoiled. Why eat slop if you don't have to?
>>
>>221069347
It's clear he wanted to push an agenda. It's sad how many people had a realization because of it.
>>
>>221066464
It's not unhealthy. No one can actually identify a single chemical in ''fast food'' that is bad
>it's le salt!!!
you put salt in your homemade food too + it's not bad for you
>it's le sugar!!!
only bad if you overeat and have very little physical activity
To this day not a single person has found a chemical they can pin being ''unhealthy'' to. The absolute best leads they have is sugar and salt. You'd think they would find a single chemical in these foods that is bad but none have been found. If there was cyanide in fast food you would find it in a few hours, but they've found nothing.
>>
>>221066464
no one wanted to think it was actually poisonous but the FDA allows selling quantities of poison that aren't immediately lethal.
>>
>>221066464
>eat nothing but McDonalds for lunch and get liver damage while doing it
>die of liver cancer a few years later
His wife should sue McDonalds for all they have.
>>

>He fell for the everyone died at 30 meme
Oh brother you really just get all your information from racist infographics on pol don't you. You're doing your best imitation of someone who doesn't have a brain. You know those stats are enormous speculation and include infant mortality and shit like the black death right? Most people lived 60+ throughout human history which is about what it is now if you subtract the frankenstein machine unlife boomers put themselves through
>>
>>221069491 (Me)
>for lunch
*for a month
>>
>>221069491
you know his liver shut down from him being an alcoholic and not cuz he ate a diet similar to 200 million americans that all seem to be doing just fine right?
>>
>fast food is a lot like alcohol addiction
>>
>>221069547
He didn't suffer liver damage until he started eating McDonalds every day. That liver damage contributed directly to the cancer that took his life.
>>
>>221069547
anon most people don't eat fast food at all at this point.
>>
>>221069380
Please, keep proving my point.

Yeah they should really be sticter on selling people alcohol and cigarettes.

You people can meme and bitch all you want, and what Spurlock did was wildly dishonest, but Supersize Me was still a really effective warning that was presented well enough to capture the attention of kids and idiots, who are the two groups who can actually benefit from being told that fast food is... le bad!

Spurlock got his eventually.
>>
>>221070866
Except it isnt le bad at all
>>
>>221066554
Why didn’t the tests pick up the liver damage before he started the experiment?
>>
>>221066598
There's yet another thread on /ck/ about it too.
>>
>>221072519
The liver damage was caused by the fast "food" he was eating every day.
>>
>>221072519
It's not part of the general check up. You have to do a specific test for that. Not unless you give the doctor a reason to test it. That's why it's important to be honest with the doctor when he asks about your health and history. If you say you drink alcohol or an alcoholic. Then they would test for that.

>>221066859
>>221069149
>>221069174
>Yea. Cut the drinking and start running. It's that simple.
To be clear, it's 95% reducing food. 5% exercise. You can lose weight doing absolutely nothing as long as you cut down the amount of food you eat. That's why you have those TV shows where the obese person is put on a restricted diet of like 1000 calories a day. And they suddenly lose weight even though they do nothing but sit around

Exercise is for building muscle and endurance. Like if you want to be able to go on long walks, hiking, running, etc without feeling exhausted. Or build a muscular body.

Exercise is not for weight loss.

All documentaries have an angle. It's not suddenly not a documentary just because it's not sincere or scientific.
>>
>>221072891
>It's not part of the general check up
Liver panels are part of standard bloodwork.
>>
>>221069506
The idea that people died young historically tends to be favored by progressives, not whoever is using /pol/ today (bots?)
>>
>>221066464
Believe it or not goyim really are so stupid they needed this retarded propaganda to actually believe that
>>
>>221066641
Nigger a bottle a day is raging acoholism. Most people drink 1 or 2 drinks a day if they drink at all.
>>
>>221069149
Cutting out all liquid calories (alcohol, soda, coffee drinks, juice) is one of the quickest ways to lose a few pounds if you consume them regularly.

To get rid of an actual beer gut you need to also adjust your diet if it's bad and you need to exercise. If you want visible abs, you need to make a huge adjustment to your diet. Assuming you are a man, belly fat is one of the most difficult things to remove.
>>
>>221073194
That only detects if the liver is damaged in some way. It does not determine what actually caused the damage. That requires other nonstandard tests.
>>
That feel when I wage slave 40h per week and still be too poor for Mc Donalds, what a time to be alive.
>>
>>221069149
Yeah just switch to light beer
>>
>>221073836
>That only detects if the liver is damaged in some way.
I know, which is why I asked why the tests didn’t pick up the damage BEFORE he starts the experiment. They clearly did when he was a couple weeks into the experiment.
>>
>>221073946
They probably assumed any liver damage was from his poor diet and massive amount of sodium and preservatives. Who knows? Didnt the doctor ask him his health history? Did he tell them he's an active drinker or did he avoid saying anything?
>>
>>221074321
>They probably assumed any liver damage was from his poor diet and massive amount of sodium and preservatives.
They say that he’s in good health and had no abnormal readings. The reality is that the insane amount of sugar and saturated fat he was consuming was bad for his liver. That, and the alcohol he was consuming.
>>
bbcom forum and /fit/ used to speculate that he was chugging liters of soda since the numbers didn't add up
turns out they were just slightly too naive to realize it was vodka instead, otherwise they got it right with simple science and critical thinking
doesn't happen here anymore
>>
I love these threads because it's just fat fuck amerimutts seething about their favourite bug burger being taken off the menu.
>>
Food autists who dont cook will tell you in your face that Mcdonalds is healthy
>>
>>221066464
it's just food
whether it's healthy or not depends on how much of it you eat
you can have a burger for lunch every day and be fine
>>
>>221074476
Didn't the supersize already come with essentially a liter of soda?
I don't doubt what you're posting but it would seem to me that 3 supersize meals a day would already be at least 5k calories, which is more than enough to fuck your life up in a month.
>>
Hated that I had to do homework on this movie because I was one of the skinniest kids in my grade.
>>
What did he die of?
>>
>>221066464
What wonderful insight, you fat fuck.
>>
>>221074870
They figured out he was consuming 1-2k extra calories per day, minimum. That's a lot over the course of a month and you can easily get it from sugary drinks or alcohol (a sugary drink with additional health debuffs)
>>
>>221066464
>You have the liver of a chronic alcoholic
>Hahaha that's so weird
>>
>>221066464
People literally did not know then. They didn't know sugar was addictive. He had to nearly kill himself (and in time actually kill himself) to show Magdonal = Death by macdinql.
TLadR if you ead MCD for 1 month you are a fatty and a dead.
>>
unfortunately americans had to be reminded of this (they ignored it anyway)
>>
>>221069084
You only know who he is because 'Super Size Me' included him, also mentioning that despite eating mostly Big Macs, he's quite healthy. How does that fit in with the narrative that Spurlock had it out for McDonald's?
