many GTA fans don't understand that Ogg is a theater actor; some of the most pretentious and cranky fucks on the planet. He has never played a single video game in his entire life and he regards those who do as losers (and he has a point).
many GTA fans also don't understand that the GTA is fucking garbage tier storytelling. That said, it's fucking hilarious that Ogg will forever be known as a dickhead who played a murderous junkie psychopath on GTA
>>
the idiot, brothers karamazov, notes from the underground.. brothers is my favorite.

Holy shit, is that Trevor Phillips from the hit video game "Grand Theft Auto V"?
>>
>>221067806
well yeah it's pretty obvious from your retarded history and inability to analyze anything properly that you're not exactly interested in any kind of deep ruminations on human nature or your own psyche. Dostoyevsky is for people who don't feel like learning the hard way with 8 different versions of the same shithead and still doing nothing different. I mean North Americans are largely like this as well but your baseless and performative presumption of your superior civility coupled with all your pomp and circumstance make you uniquely insufferable.

I like when he got throat punched and manhandled by a geriatric walking corpse of a man in Better Call Saul.

I've read Crime and Punishment and Brothers Karamazov. Bros is a masterpiece. I doubt that anything else by him will top that one, but I'm definitely going to read more of him eventually. I want to read The House of the Dead next.
>>
>>221067152
crime and punishment was good. notes from the underground was funnier than i thought. House of the dead is on my to read pile.

its unprofessional if he doent have a level of familiarity of the game. PQArt of his job is promiting the game after its finished production. he cant do that if he has no familiarity with it
>>
>>221069737
Lol yeah. The deadpan delivery in which he describes certain characters' ridiculous behavior/convictions has gotten some true belly laughs from me.
>>

I'm not. I have probably one thousand hours between online and story mode. Ogg is right, we're swine wallowing in our shit. The key to life is being a happy swine.

I did... it was concerned with all these Christian issues that meant nothing to me. As drama it was dull

Most people know him from The Shield or Walking Dead
>>
I read Crime and Punishment a long time ago but didn't feel like it was really that interesting of a story. The main takeaway is more religious than anything. The punishment for doing something wrong is having to live with the fact that you did it, however society can't guarantee you feel bad so they must exercise a corporeal punishment of some kind. There is the obvious metaphor of the detective being God and some other stuff. Overall the premise has been done to death and in better forms than just "murderer feels bad"

I think infidelity is a more interesting sin because not only do you have to live with the guilt of betrayal, you also have to live with the person you betrayed. Murder is less fascinating as a story because it's isolating.

Ogg really is a cunt.
>>
>>221069509
It's pretty sad how Ned Luke just won't let GTA go, all he does nowadays is stream the game and quotes lines from this 13 year old video game, at least Ogg has clearly moved on with his life

>>
>>221068892
>>221069658
i've read crime and punishment and really wanted to try brothers karamazov, but when does it really begin? Crime and punishment and some of dostoyevskys smaller stories have prologues that sum things up quite fast, but with brothers its
>the grandfather of one of the people mentioned in this book sold turnips at the local town square, which was a style at the time, since he had to feed his daughter, son and wife but unfortunately he got kicked in the head by a mule and then his father reacted to that kick by kneeling besides his dying father while people gathered to look at this sudden event but then his father decided to do business and

>>221071249
GTA games at least are all mocapped. they aren't just in a room reading lines, they're actually acting the scenes out. for example, that one scene where Trevor trips on a fence and threatens Franklin for laughing was an AdLib, because Ogg actually tripped whilst doing the mocap for the scene and decided to play it off in-character.

It's hard to appreciate C&P without a philosophical background. Raskolnikov is the archetypal 'new man' birthed by the then nascent existentialism and other modernisms. Dostoevsky prefigures much of the 20th century in a way that's both charitable to his intellectual opponents while also offering guidance to the lost.

Exactly nothing, he's just been taught to say that, in order to make reading a popular book, which is read and enjoyed by teenagers in Europe, sound like some profound feat of intellectual girth.

i like the brothers karamazov the best
>>

If he's a theater actor why are all of his roles exactly the same and why did he take the job for trevor to begin with??
If he doesn't like video games, he shouldn't have taken a video game role. It's that simple.
>>
>>221069658
Most recent thing I read was that short story about the hag woman who tried to marry off her daughter to some old guy who was going senile. It was funny cause it all crashed down around them and the whole town clowned on them for being golddigger whores. But it unfortunately ended with them basically not facing any real repercussions and moving away and getting exactly what they wanted with a different old guy or whatever
It was woman moment the short story
>>

dostoevsky is just sex and the city for mopey failed normalfag dudes

1. the idiot
2. brothers karamazov
3. demons
4. crime & punishment
5. humiliated and insulted
6. notes from the underground
7. the gambler
8. poor folk
9. the house of the dead
10. the village of stepanchikovo

that being said, 1-4 are all 11/10 masterworks even with idiot being written for a magazine between bouts of epilepsy and demons only really ramping up in the second part

dostoevsky is the only writer where i felt awed while interacting with his work, michelangelo is the only other person that produced this feeling in me

Most of his stuff, favourite is the idiot
